What are cheap shots exactly

Comparing spar to the real art of the sword we now call fencing ,cheapshots simply do not exist.

Its all about looking for your opponents weakness and striking there making sure you will be well deffended when your opponent strikes back and keeping a good distance from your enemy.
I usualy use a saber so I am unfamiliar with some epei and foil technique but I know that if I was on epei and kept stabbing your arm every time you let it be vulnerable it would be kinda cheap but it is completely your fault for letting it be vulnerable and not protecting yourself.

Spar uses a saberlike sword so cheapness is not a thing , if you are repeating the same moves over again your opponent should not fail to that, they should be able to use a new stradegy and rek u.

How exactly would any hit be cheap and trashy if I am not lagging or delaying alot.

A cheap shot is when you hit your opponent when they are typing or AFK in spar, IDK what else you're on about...

A real life cheap shot would be hitting someone when when they were was sorting out their fencing helmet/whatever it's called.
Stuff like that.

Doing something that is not fair.

I've always felt that if the person you are sparring is dumb enough to stop and type anything during a spar other that "gl" at the very beginning of it, they deserve to be hit.

If you just chill for 30 seconds while someone is AFK they get warped out of the arena and you win anyway, so you have to have really low patience to cheapshot now

I cheapshot if it's some idiot who constantly harasses me or if it's some boring lagger who I really don't care to spar, other than that I usually just wait it out
I don't expect anyone to do the same for me though, like half the time I wait for an AFKer, I'll tab out and when I tab back in they are back and they are cheapshotting me ???

I know what you're talking about. I've seen someone in spar accuse another of these so called "cheap shots" when all he was simply doing was hitting him where he was vulnerable. For exmaple: If the oppenent swung to the left, he'd hit them from top or bottom and then be accused for "cheap shotting." I'm pretty sure that's what you're talking about, Sardon.

In any other case cheap shotting would be hitting someone while afk, talking, etc...

when u hit your opponent while he/she's time out/afk whatever the reason may be.

On a battlefield, there are no such thing as a cheap shot. If you make a mistake, you get hit.

I'd consider sparrers 'cheap' when they get hit by the opponent and just stands there knowing they have a short invincibility time but the opponent sometimes might think they are lagging but then proceeds to 'cheapshot' the opponent when their guard is down. Other people might say its a strategy but lets be honest, its one of many dirty tricks.

Cheap shotting is when you make excuses and still don't realise going afk or talking in spar is stupid. talk to people when you aint sparring. The other guy does us a favour and finishes off the afk.

Like when you are just standing there and someone hits you or when you freeze and someone gets a free hit.

I personally do not get competitive with spar just due to the unstable nature of how lag affects the outcome.

HOWEVER, when I am sparring someone laggy and I stop to type "you are lagging really bad." and they continue to hit me as fast as they can- I view it as scummy. So in my definition that is what a cheap shot is. They seem to get tunnel vision on getting that one additional spar win for their profile rather than following an ethical code of sustaining a reliable connection and allowing someone to talk.

I understand spar is not designated for talking, however when someone talks in spar I do back off and see what they have to say. I don't care much for the win/loss- I am more interested in the fair fight to the end. It is automatically an unfair fight if someone got hit while unable to defend themselves- and that right there shows an inner personality trait of selfishness and unsportsmanship
