Remove Vulcan Blaze's Stolen Birthday Hat
 

I logged on to visit Ol' West because it's been a while since I visited and I saw Vulcan Blaze's birthday hat. That hat is edited & stolen and I made that hat. The tileset I started was edited and ruined but I'm not letting this pass.

The hat I'm talking about is the one I used for my hide & seek and Trckzilla event. I was not asked for the permission to edit my personal hat and my work to use it for the server. Vulcan Blaze has no rights to use it as his birthday hat without my permission and I want it removed.

Anything uploaded to Graal is property of Graal, therefore he can edit it and isn't under your right anymore. I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out, but it's not stolen.

I knew it looked familiar, I bet that's kind of annoying that he just did that without even asking!

As much of an asshole this guy may be for editing your hat it's not really "stealing" as all files uploaded to Graal instantly become property of Graal.

"All files uploaded to a server immediately become the property of GraalOnline. Usage rights are granted to the server on which the files were uploaded. Consequently staff may not remove any of their work from the server upon quitting or otherwise leaving their position."

Ol west is so bad that admins have to steal other peoples hats for their birthday. Nice, that's one server you wont see me on.

That's a little shady. . . Vulcan doesn't really need to ask permission anymore but its just common courtesy not to edit and reuse another persons work. The least one could do is credit the original artist for the template.

But I like this hat. Please don't remove it.

I did the hat for vulcan, he wanted the same crown so I got him what he wished for, plus it's olwest property so either way it still is and always will be.
I just do what I get asked and only reason I allowed it is cus the original hat is from olwest.

Guess there isn't much of a difference between the Era and Ol west community at all.

If a hat is uploaded and used on Ol'West in one place, it definitely is allowed to be re-colored to be used other places..

Even if it was from another server, we'd be able to use it with the other server manager's position.

And the fact they use "Anything uploaded to graal is graals property therefore we can use it" instead of apologizing or giving at least some credibility makes them look like even bigger tools.

I just do my job plus I am not even taking any credit either so I really don't see the problem, and since pat quit anyways I didn't contact him because I only had a few hours because I'm busy with a lot of stuff at the same time.
I don't mind hate comments at all but this was my first exception ever for a hat edit :)

I read what you said and I understand but still odd reason to follow as someone said unless his birthday was like the next day but Pat should of spoke to the staff before quitting about his hat not being used for anything.

iEra took one of my 1k squad hats from Zone and sold it on era for 1 Gralat. That's graal for you.

1 of the rules to becoming a gfx admin (ik he probably isn't but instead a gp) is to not steal graphics and to make original gfx.

I would love to see that rule because my work is stolen constantly! Lol

While it's true anything made for graal is graal's property, the principle should still stand that you respect creators work, at least by crediting him. Especially as he is an ex staff member of your server and has requested for it to be changed.
You don't have to change it, but considering he must have done work for Ol West while he was staff, the least that could be done in repayment is to respect his wishes and edit it to something different.
Not much of the crown is showing anyway, it would require very minimal effort to make a new crown and stick the fire part back ontop

First off, stop using, "it's now Graal's property", and, "we can edit it as much as we want to", to cover up your wrongful actions towards me and protect the server's reputation. I joined this server because of HomelessWitch's personal invitation back in May 2014, I worked on the server for over a year doing graphics and leveling.

I don't deserve this after all the time and patience I put in while working on this server. I should at least have received a request to have my work edited and/or credited for the template.

When I first logged in to Ol' West I knew it had potential to be a great server. The theme was so inspiring, but the graphics needed major improvements. I had many ideas and plans for the server, one being to revamp the entire tileset.

Shiz, you may have worked on the server for several days, or months, before me, and you may be a bit older than myself, but honestly you do not fit your administration position. Not to imply that I am better, but you are such an incompetent department leader. You have only ruined the graphics on this server. A prime example would be denying the work of a staff member if they didn't follow your ugly color palette, and even changing the inside tileset and make Ol' West a lot more uglier.

I know you had already finished changing the inside tileset, and I never agreed with what you were doing, but I kept quiet as to avoid conflict with you and other staff members. In the end, I contacted HomelessWitch and asked for her permission to redesign the outside tileset, from which I finished it. I also asked her if I could redo the inside tiles as well and have her make the final decision on whether the inside ones will be changed or not. Even with my constant efforts to improve the graphics of the server and be up-to-par with the other servers, you still stopped me.

Your actions and demeanor is what kept me from ever seeing you as my leader. You don't deserve that title, thus, why I never asked for your permission, but rather permission from your superior, aka HomelessWitch. I honestly don't care if you're the one in charge of anything graphic-related on this server because so far you haven't impressed me in the least bit.

Quite honestly your attitude towards the whole inside tileset situation is childish. Don't deny my work as a way to save not only your pride, but the ugly inside tileset you made. We all know that one day your ugly tileset needs replacing.

Secondly, no one said my inside tiles were even going to be used, but for you to shoot down my ideas as a fellow colleague was blatantly rude. HomelessWitch had said she would decide what would and what wouldn't be used when everything was finished, from which I held onto her word.

I had greater plans for the tileset I created, but thanks to you, it is now edited and ruined. Now look, various people agree with the common speculation that Ol' West no longer has that wild western theme, but instead a medieval theme. The stone walls weren't used quite much and colorful roofs weren't even existent then, nor is it relevant to the original theme of the server.

Your ruling has only ruined the server. The potential I had once seen is gone now, and that is why I decided to resign. The work of a graphic artist on this server should all be considered and given a fair chance through HomelessWitch.

Tbh I don't think that could be worded better, and the outside theme, after my little break from era and came back to west and to see its change, I was disappointed, I liked the old look better then this new look, sorry Shiz but this the first time you ever disappointed me. #PatWins
