GST

How about everyone, who won a hat at GST, will be automaticlly banned at the next GST. Not to make it fair for the others to get a chance to actually win it, it should be fair to US, too. Yeh', I don't like them but Fairplay should be on a 2D Game full of Pixels too.

What do you think?

Rufus 09-04-2011 05:05 PM

I can't think of a single sporting competition that bans the winners of a tournament from participating in the next one. There is no real sense of competition in that. If everyone is supposed to be able to win, just don't host a tournament and release the items to everyone.

Papyrus 09-04-2011 05:06 PM

Owned by logic.

callimuc 09-04-2011 05:08 PM

Wouldn't call it banned. Would call it a not so good idea.

Winter 09-04-2011 05:14 PM

When a baseball team wins the World Series, or a football team wins the World Cup, they don't get booted out of the next tournament. The tournament is fair if everybody has a fair chance. Best teams in the world in all kinds of sports win all the time, but that doesn't mean they're impossible to beat. Its up to the other teams to get stronger to beat out the reigning champions. Right now it may seem unfair, but if people really try to practice with the same team and get stronger as a team, they have a better shot at winning than anyone else. Its all about who has the better team altogether. Rufus is right; no other team in the world for any sport would be kicked out of a tournament for winning the previous one.

Terry IdkH 09-04-2011 05:18 PM

Wow.. do you see Graal as a sport?

GST is a tournament, which relates to sports. Graal is a game, which you obviously don't want to lose.

callimuc 09-04-2011 05:20 PM

It's not that's a sport it's the logic behind it. Just because they are good they shouldn't br part of the next tournament. What about spending some time in the Spar arena and actually spar?

Terry IdkH 09-04-2011 05:23 PM

Eh', US is kicked out of the GST-Semptember because they won FB and Classics GST. So I made this thread to do it "fair".

Are there any non-sporting tournaments to relate this to?

It has nothing to do with sports, it's about competition(Chess, Poker, and any other skill that has a tournament... it's not all about sports).

Prizes are for the ones who come out on top... can you really claim you came out on top simply because the best team from last year weren't allowed to play? No, because you're not the best. If you were the best you'd beat the team who won last time instead of just pushing them out of the way.

I see where your coming from Shannon, but if terry's idea was put in place it would put more smiles on players faces. The winners would receive a hat and an emotion while other competitors have a greater chance of winning the next tournament. And the winning sparrers could branch off to other teams so its not to unfair to them.

Terry IdkH 09-05-2011 01:14 PM

Plus, I didn't meant to make it easier for others at first place, I wanted to make it fair for US, for you.

Crono 09-05-2011 02:24 PM

It's fair for US how?

Rok 09-05-2011 02:29 PM

If you don't want to lose there's only one real solution: Practice. 'Nuf said.

Terry IdkH 09-05-2011 02:43 PM

US got banned for the next GST. That's unfair but if they're going to ban US for the next GST they should ban every guild which is under the top 3 for the next GST. That's the only way to make it for US "fair" if they're banned.

Swift 09-05-2011 03:22 PM

The only way to make this fair is for admins to simply say, " You know what? They won, sucks I guess, how about you, the players, make a team to BEAT them? " They're just crumpling under the pressure of the Graal community.

Terry IdkH 09-05-2011 03:32 PM

I know. It isn't fair that US is banned.

You only want your guild not to be proven fraud, lol.

Exactly the reason staff gave in to the idea that GST wasn't fair, forcing people to split up between two servers. We proved we would win both, and people continue to complain. Is there no sympathy for a simple fair tournament?

That's true but at the same time we're not a "team", we're a guild. This is supposed to be a tourney for guilds, not for people to try to come up with powerhouse teams and then complain when they lose.

Terry IdkH 09-05-2011 03:51 PM

No, I don't care about my guild, it's more a fun tournament than a "sports" one.

Well my friend, you basically just named the teams that win 2nd to 3rd, lmao.

Alex Damian 09-05-2011 05:03 PM

Yeah well even though US ain't aloud in the next one, they well group in another guild. It is fair, because would u want them to win every single GST no one else win hats or anything? I think no one would want that except US Members. Ty Admins ;)

Terry IdkH 09-05-2011 05:05 PM

Who cares if they win? If they're the best, they deverse it. That's unfair if you're going to be banned if you spent alot of time into graal guild-spar. They just practised alot, you could also win every time if you would practise.

Then get better instead of relying on admins to compensate for your lack of skill. If the prizes are for the most skilled players who win, then why shouldn't US get them all if they continue to win? If the admins wanted everyone to have an equal chance of winning then they'd set up a lottery or something.

RyleyGraal 09-05-2011 07:22 PM

you cant be the best, until you beat the best. enough said. let the previous winner join the next gst. makes the tournament more fun and challenging.

G Fatal 09-08-2011 05:56 PM

I believe to make it fair they should do it at a better time... the GST are so bias for USA players to have an advantage. for UK players the sparring matches officially start at 1AM in the morning; how the hell are we meant to play PC players at that time(half asleep) and have a chance? GST should be 2pm EST 7pm UK time. Lets be fair.

For germans it started like at 2AM and till Iīve been on the row to spar it was like 4AM. Probably thatīs why they make it on the weekends...

Timezones make it so that it's never fair for everyone. There is no fix for this. Best thing you can do is either cater to the majority or switch the times up with each competition so that every month another timezone gets a fair chance.

Kind of like how the World Cup is hosted on a different continent each time.

You don't play vs PC players. There's a seperate tourney on the Facebook server for PC users. Not only that but some of the US players are European too, you know. Either way the tourney did start a bit late.
