Trivia~Lack Of Hosting

Ok. So sorry to sound narcissistic but myself, along with others have noticed that Trivia is rarely hosted anymore. Admins generally "don't have time." Now, I'm not asking for anything extreme but it would be nice to see trivia hosted as much as it used to be *Sad Music Plays* So, staff. Please prepare questions before trivia as it only takes a few minutes and trivia gives players who aren't generally sparring-conditioned (as TTS is generally hosted in place of trivia) a chance for horseshoes :)

Thankyou, Jay.

Xenice 09-13-2015 03:12 PM

I host trivia every sunday, or every other sunday - and I prepare my trivias before I host it. I call it 'Trivia Sunday' and I might as well add that there's also '10 events Friday'

I've also noticed that there's been a lack of events in general. As much as I love to host, I also want to participate in events once in a while - but that's highly unlikely because not many Deputies host nowadays. (I've not included other departments because I'm aware of the fact that they have other things to do)

I Like The Idea Of Themed Trivias As Well (E.g. Maths, Science, A Movie And So Forth) But Ty Xenice We Appreciate What You Do :)

Preset questions shouldn't become a thing.. that's just catering to the fast-typers/pre-typers.

Obviously have over 1000+ questions but don't reuse them

They scared to host it, cause I win a very high % of Trivias that I attend ;)

Because they ask non-challenging questions or simple-minded ones. For example, Wildcat said a question, "What's better: cats or pandas?". The answer was cats...*facepalm*

If you're going to host a proper trivia event, avoid opinionated questions like what I mentioned above. There's very few on staff that actually make questions that are challenging and are already prepared with the theme of the trivia. Others are simply incompetent.

I've won all the trivia events I've done by looking up the answer gg

Oh god. I hate questions that are like that. I really wish admins would stick with Ol'West related qeustions, because obviously everyone knows what Ol'West is, and there is plenty of questions they can make. I hate when admins are bias, and asking about there gang. Also, how sometimes the admin asks same questions and people know what to type lol. But hey, thats only some trivias. I love trivia!

When I was an admin I chose Trivia at least every second event I hosted and I had such a range of themes. I asked people to stand together in a giant pile then I dragged one person out and asked for a theme then I did 3 questions on that theme and re-chose. Most of the time it wasn't even the person who chose the theme getting the point.

I agree with you Xenice. Trivia has been Under-Hosted, but staff have other things to do. They can't host Events all the time, but I believe that when they do host they host good events, just they might not have time for Trivia.

No because most of the admins that host it don't even know the answer to their own questions, or type it wrong.

Question: "K, what is cat plus cat times dog?".

Answer: "Monkey".

The mentality of what I believe the admins of Ol'West have.

SammyPs 02-04-2016 05:08 PM

Zolton Giovani, with his epic spelling skills. He hosted trivia yesterday.

BUT!

It took 34 mins exactly! as i recorded the timing.
Yeah, take this event away. Make a new one pl0x's.

and the reasoning he said because it was "under hosted" it's the fact he hosted it for that reason and not just for any particular reason.

No dont remove the event, silly. It just needs to be hosted more often in a better manner.

Well I know there are lots of admins out there that hate hosting events, and trivia is one of those long events, also you have to come up with the questions. Now I know most admins do tts cause they open the door for 4-15 people so it's short, but it's also entertaining to watch for them.

Bryan* 02-04-2016 08:18 PM

Or do it how classic does it with a mass broadcast of 3 questions 1 topic. First 3 players to get it correctly win. They would have to PM the admin who's hosting.

Bad idea, admins can rig the trivias like that, not saying they didnt rig it b4 but u can easily rig it

Yet it works so well in Classic. I've seen numerous players from noobs to average players winning it. I, myself, have won in Trivia with the way it functions. The way in Ol'West is only bad due to the incompetent and 2nd grade level questions that are produced by the people hosting it.

Bubby. 02-13-2016 05:14 PM

Lol.

Then don't expect admins to host Trivia if they intentionally avoid the event knowing they wouldn't host a decent trivia.
