Use Onnet Courthouse

I think that instead of a ban sometimes, the admin the caught the player doing something against the rules should go to court with the player with NYN or Az as the judge. This would be enertaining because people could watch.

mr froggy 01-04-2012 01:15 PM

It'd be entertaining but time consuming and I highly doubt admins would be willing to give up there time for this, plus there person probably wouldnt defend there case they'd just ask for hats and other items, plus this'll just make players disobey the rules just to talk/meet admins.

MattKan 01-04-2012 01:25 PM

Tbh I don't want every player's fate resting in the hands of NYN or Azrael. In an already corrupt staff team, this wouldn't help.

Tyler 01-04-2012 01:28 PM

They don't have time to be doing that kind of thing. To me it sounds like a waste of time since the people would put up a poor case or jut screw around. You'd have to do that for every person who was caught breaking the rules too.

And thats quite alot of people.

Maxy 01-04-2012 02:25 PM

You would get lots of people shouting at NYN and azreal saying stuff like "CAN I BE A ADMIN" and stuff like that. It would be good though.

Kyro122 01-04-2012 03:24 PM

I would rather be banned then have to deal with az and nyn at the same time. They would make you do something horrible or be like :'is that arguing? 6382010191 hour ban!'

scion 01-04-2012 05:22 PM

like mr froggy said it just wouldnt work

Azrael 01-04-2012 06:07 PM

Yeah. I'm totally corrupt, right?

Also, this definitely won't be happening. That would take up way too much time. Fun idea though.

Perhaps it could be a player thing... Such as a random pm would be sent to a online player adking if they'd like to be judge as long ad they are unbiased with a yes or no reply. No, sends to another online player. It could just be roleplay and no actual sentence given. Just an idea.

Or, players can go there and press a button that adds them to a list of players who would like to roleplay a courtcase, and when (randomly) a case is given, each online player who said theyd like to participate recieve a pm. And it randomly selects who is judge, jury, prosecutor, the accused etc from those who said yes to the pm.
In theory, it could work. But myself not being a scripter i cant say for sure. Wouldd be fun though.

This could be done without any messages or scripting at all. If players were 'sentenced' in this manner and actually received some sort of ban, that wouldn't be a good thing. Players already think that we're biased when we ban someone for being racist or lewd. We don't need players rebelling on players as well.

I did say 'no sentance actually given'. Meaning no actual ban. Only i the extreme cases that arent 'for fun' as i suggested; they are made up accusations not actual accusations. I.e. Player A assassinated The President. Jus roleplay no actual bans given or anything.

PerfectDark 01-04-2012 07:42 PM

This has been done before and ended in failure..

0ddball 01-04-2012 07:48 PM

They won't waste their time on that, lol.
But you could always add NPC that is loking like them and the only thing it say is like "He is guilty"

Katniss 01-04-2012 10:39 PM

Unless you hired special staff for it...
too time consuming.
Though i admit there are lots of stupid bans on classic that need justification like the recent "altering files" problem.

What altering files problem?

NCJohn 01-05-2012 12:48 AM

Maybe rather then just having people go to the warning room or jail they could be sent to some sort of small cage that is in the middle of graal city. Also you could even make it so that players could throw rotten tomatoes or something at them (yes I got that from Runescape xD).

Froggy Krueger 01-05-2012 12:55 AM

Lmao... If this were staff-run, players would do bad stuff more often in a desperate attempt to get attention. I'd like to see a player run queue system like the shadow guy suggested, maybe an npc with the ban hammer gani hits players voted guilty, and they're unstuck or somethin. Would need a spectator cap though, so cases dont end up with 300 viewers.

Ive never been banned before, but by pictures ive seen theres no way to explain yourself, I think I read somewhere rufus or someone was banned for spamming report when he was actually trying to help fp4 find players having trouble with presents or somthing like that. In the end I think there should be an easier way to contact admins (maybe like a feedback thing) once banned.

Edit: My bad turns out there already is a send feedback option when you get banned. silly me

D-Vader 01-05-2012 02:58 AM

You could use the courthouse in a quest...

I've seen about 90832084309843290384904382 people on facebook complaining they got banned for altering files and didnt...
like i doubt that many people would lie about it.
(I exaggerated obviously but it was a LOT of people)

Higbey 01-06-2012 04:11 AM

That's the problem with the reasons, they are vague and miss used, marking something as hacking when it's bug abuse ,

Xavier 01-06-2012 07:27 PM

This would be hilarious, but as many said, too time consuming.

Muttslaughter 01-06-2012 08:01 PM

I agree also it would be cool if the court house could send you to jail, but a KING in the throne room at the castle would be the one who "banished" you

Xavier 01-07-2012 01:07 AM

Also, people would try to get banned just to experience it.

Very true. People enjoyed going to the jail so people would definitly enjoy going to court.

You can do this already. You don't need staff consent to role play. :P
