Graalloween 2015
For this years Graalloween could the developer admins take some ideas from past years (not last year).
I want to see the pumpkin patch again. If any of you don't know, a couple years ago for Halloween they had a pumpkin patch with pumpkins growing in it and once it finished growing it usually had a face on it which you could buy for 500 gralats. I would love to see this again because it was so fun (no idea why). I also want to see something similar to the Onnet Forrest witch's trivia for her broom. It doesn't have to be exactly the same but something similar where there is chance for a rare prize. Don't forget trick or treating. But.. I didn't like the fact that last year you had to go inside people houses to get 1 piece of candy. The effort!! :P even though entering someones house makes much more sense than catching it from a ghost. I also would rather NPCs to trade with rather then buying bags from a cat. This is all just my opinion. Anyone agree? |
I loved going to NPCs who would be dressed up in halloween costumes and you do trick or treat, loved that. Last year i wasn't too sure on the going to player house as it was really boring and all my effort didn't seem rewarding.
|
I didn't even do last years. To be honest, I would like to see it be kinda like the egg hunt. You get candy from a multitude of areas. Though, that certainly would take the originality out of the event. Excited to see what they have in store for us :)
|
I remember last year I was a noob I need money I collected candy and traded it for money bags
|
EXACTLY like Last year - but more prizes and stuff. That'd be great.
|
I always miss the cash in candy days cause I end up somewhere with no signal or wifi :/ I have like 2000 pieces of candy XD

You should've seen graalloween 2011 fun times. Admins prepared a stage for an act and everyone came in to watch
|
If they brought back the autumn tileset I'd be a happy man.
|
Last year was horrible. I liked trick or treat with the ghosts
|
Don't listen to the new players, they didn't experience anything before last year's Halloween. They have no idea what they want. Don't make Halloween a Player Housed event again, ever.
1. Ghost Hunting 2. Witch brooms 3. Giant Pumpkin Boss 4. Skeleton Morph at Deadwood (revamped one) 5. I'm sure the hats will be good at Club Crypt (judging by the way things are going) 6. 2-P flying mount... 2-P Bat? 80k-100k (For rarity, and qualities) 7. Make the world foggy and darker, weather effects can be disabled (For the "lag"ers) 8. Add some holiday theme to Battle Arena, Towers, Cities (just outside) and also mobs (Pirates, Baddies, etc) 9. Make the rat morph quest give you a white rat 10. When candy collecting is done, keep last year's shop (much better system, hopefully no weird mount this time) Spoiler
I'll think of some more later on. |
Chimera mount was awesome ok D:
|
how about you trade your candy in for an npc's hat
Or the candy itself can be opened to reveal an item |

but I said somewhere else what about if there was like 1fort that is only for the season and it has its own fort time ldrbd then for whatever guild gets most time they get a reward of such -idk how it could work out? but maybe if able to do a gpoint thing like ol' but just for that fort. so basically it would end up say: guild1 -1st the highest (25?) that have earnt gpoints via that guild(so more about loyalty than the they at top lets join)get prize and maybe for 2nd and 3rd guilds but smaller prize? just an idea anyways not sure how much work that'd be. |

we can buy a bucket, then we go around the map trick or treating NPCs and receive a candy. we can open candies after the halloween. candies turn to a treat or a trick. Make 20 NPCs that stays in their spot. (you can treat or trick them only once a day) Make ~10 NPCs that constantly warps around the map and you can treat or trick them every time they move to a new place. Ex) Just like that Witch Hunt for the Broom mount. |

1. Need 5 players (including yourself) in the same party/guild to enter the dungeon 2. If all players die in the dungeon, then all get warped out (no prize, gotta restart) 3. You can only enter the dungeon 2-3 times a day 4. Leaderboard for parties with quickest time beating the dungeon get rare prize (#1-5/10 only) 5. Rest of the guilds receive candy 6. The candy you receive can then later be traded in the candy shop Description: Have mini lizardon (difficulty) style mobs, and Huge Lizardon (Higher difficulty) style boss in the last level. Lizardons are the toughest mobs, so their difficulty would be great, just make something halloween themed. I think a dungeon would be great, but you should encourage players to do it with teams, maybe making the loot bigger if you complete the dungeon with a team, instead of doing it alone. Would also be good if you can only enter with a single team by registering. Pking/Sparring (Solo) 1. Every kill you get during Halloween Event, gives you 5 candies. 2. Every Spar you win gives you 10-20 candies. 3. If you die 3 times without getting a kill you lose 20 candy (includes spar) 4. Candy can be traded at the Candy Shop. 5. Top pkers receive a rare prize. |

Apparently there needs to be an OldSchool Classic server. Halloween suggestion threads always seem to end up without much progress. I agree with Rufus. There needs to be a new gameplay idea that most of the players like. Suggesting content from years past doesn't help, it was not used again for a reason. For now, until or unless a good idea is made, Club Crypt, Taylor Richaards, and half-off uploads seems to be the way to go since it works. There is a downside to this, though. There has already been set an expectation that nearly every year something new is done for Halloween. Not just shops. So there will be negative feedback if nothing can be made as an "actual" event. People will complain about "laziness(despite there not being such a thing)" and lack-of-content. But as someone who helped the development of a different small-time MMO, it is hard to do something that pleases most of your population. I strictly do the Easter hunt to stock up on hundreds of rotten eggs to last me until next year. I like the Easter hunt, but I like it in a different way then intended. EDIT: Holy crap I wrote a wall of text. |
I'm banking on the candy bowls being a thing still. Maybe being tweaked in such a way to limit the number you can get in a 24-hour period, thus causing the quick as you can house shuffle thing to not be an issue? That could also be useful in creating a more controlled gifting/random item exchange/purchase sandbox and minimizing the requirement of creative gifts/hats/treats required to be developed..?
|
Yeah, I kinda hope they aren't doing the trick or treating houses again. It was a nice idea, but the event turned into a money-making event for maze houses so it took forever going through some houses lol.
Well, here's a very basic idea that's widely used: Make a Graal themed zombie apocalypse. The concept of getting candy gets boring over time. Since most of the community like to kill things.. from bandits to other players, I don't think it would be a bad idea to add in something like that. When they added in random baddies around Graal that you could kill for honor points, I enjoyed it even though I can't remember what they dropped. But in the end, we used the things we earned to get into the reward shop and bought the 10-15 things that were available. Also similar to what Aguzo mentioned about the fog/darkness & disabling effect, I think there should be a temporary night/day system for Halloween cause isn't that what most of us are waiting for anyways? Instead of killing baddies like we usually do for the other holiday events, I think the building npcs that we all enjoy knowing like Sopia & Bernart(+ all the other ones, however many npcs there are) should turn into zombies at "night" for 15-20 mins, and spawn randomly attacking nearby players instead of standing in the same spot that they were always at. Other than being programmed like a baddy, those zombie npcs should also do more damage, and walk/hit faster since it would be too easy if we were just killing things that we already know how to do on the game so yeah, it would be nice to have something added in that was more challenging but fun at the same time too. Another addition that could also be added during Halloween is the use of a new temporary weapon(like a stake/special bow; yes i know stakes are for vampires lol) that players can buy to kill the zombies, and make our normal swords/bows/bombs/fire lanterns be immune to killing them. I also think there should be a leveling type of system for the event also. Just like a personal achievement thingy at the bottom of your screen that tells you that you've killed 200 zombies so that it keeps the players from not being bored of repetitively doing the same thing. So instead of the zombie dropping 1 loot, it could drop 2 when you've killed 200. Then you can trade like 50 loots for a 1 point or something. |
Bottom line, old halloween ruled.
|
Getting trick or treats from npcs was the best system lol
Ghosts maybe not, but candy dropping at the rates of eggs would be cool |
AUTUMN TILESET
|
Perhaps a haunted house/maze. Could make it dangerous with traps and scary pop ups? I know I'd wander through one :D
|
Big update!!! NPCs also seem to be digging something.. Maybe something similar to Easter? Though that would be a bit boring.
|
digging up zombies?=zombie baddies =candy ? :o

I really liked the event with the ghosts carrying the candy that you had to catch with a net.

Last year's system worked (in a sense) as they were trying something new. But I agree with the people who say it was repetitive and got tedious quickly. Maybe use the same system but differently? Something that could be cool (but may not be able to be done since Halloween is right around the corner) would be if the NPCs would give you tasks in order to receive candy. Not really sure how this would work, though. Maybe something like "Bring me 'X' loot item" or "Bring me 'X' bug" or "Bring me 'X' food item" could work, but then again there is only so much you can do with this. It also seems like the NPCs are decorating for Halloween. Maybe one of the tasks could be helping them decorate their homes. But again, this would probably take time to design and script, and I'm not sure if there would be enough time for this. Something that could be cool is a "Haunted House" competition, where players decorate their houses and try to make it as spooky as possible and submit their decors for a contest. Whomever has the spookiest house could win a prize of some kind. I don't know how this would be organized, though, but it would be pretty fun. |
What is more Halloween than a Haunted House!
There are 2 different ways I think of that would make a Haunted House fun: 1. The Haunted House would have to be a maze-type house, with all sorts of jump scares woven through the maze. To make it an incentive to complete the maze, it would have be a race, similar to the horse races in York town. Whoever won would get a reward! In this case...CANDY! 2. Boss stages. What I mean by this is a level-based "raid" which would have different Halloween themed Zelda-type bosses. Such as Noobenstien, or The Onnet Witch. The Haunted House could be done solo or with friends, and would give rewards based on stages completed. These are just some new ideas that I thought would bring originality and fun for a majority of people. Either way I can't wait for these Halloween events to come around! |
difficult ≠ bad
imo The challenge is part of the fun |
