Stuff Found At School?
 

So I walked into a random Freshman English class with one dude sitting on a desk (this guy must have good attendance), anyway I just walked in and randomly sat on a desk waiting for my next class that was right next door and I see these nice pair of black earphones (I keep calling them headphones). Me being the guy I am just walked up to the earphones, this freshie lookin at me like, poor ass ***** pickin' dirty ass earphones off the floor. As soon as I picked them up I connected them to my phone, and I played some random video in my camera roll to hear the sound and boy was it awesome. Don't know if I'm exaggerating but I'm a poor guy ok! OK! Anyways the earphones are called Monster N-Lite In-Ear Headphones. Their price is average but hey it was a nice find.

Woah woah hold on, dude. How can you even call that stealing. I found them laying on the floor all lonely, and this other freshie inside the class is just lookin' at them so they're obviously not his. So then what do you want me to do, go to the main office and hit them up like "Yo, I found a pair of earphones in class". Than what, is the main office supposed to announce lost headphones. Anyone could come and take em, so I might as well you know what I mean.
The principal would probably take them himself and start jamming to some old tunes from the 50's.

Yeah, take them to the main office, and if some guy comes looking for a pair of headphones, he can get them back. It's not that hard!

I'd give them to the teacher if you were going to return them; whoever's they were they are probably in that class. But tbh ignore anyone trying to make you feel bad for snatching them, it's a pair of headphones, it's not a phone or something valuable. I could get it if you saw whose they were, but you didn't so its not likely they find their way back to the owner anyway.

The internet is great at throwing things out of proportion.

I stole a laptop at school once, then returned where I got it, I left a message that I will bring it back.
But I took the earphones, and a few games that was on the laptop.

You are seriously mentally ill if you think that telling someone that keeping a pair of headphones they found in school is stealing is us, "trying to make him feel bad". Yea, because we're just a bunch of fruitcake perverts sitting around our computers jerking off to the idea of making someone feel down on their self. This is the reason society is falling apart; I just wrote a quote about this yesterday:

Part of that is that anyone telling someone what is RIGHT is immediately backfired with, "YOU JUDGMENTAL WAVING PIECES OF CRAP BLOWING EVERYTHING OUT OF PROPORTION WANTING EVERYONE TO BE MISERABLE LIKE YOU SHUUUT UP!!!"

There is a lost & found in the school for a reason, and these headphones are about $30. When I lose my headphones, I know I go looking for them. Telling someone what is right & wrong isn't an Internet propaganda crusade to make some stranger beat himself up; this is Graalians, not the Truman show.

They don't announce lost items on loudspeakers because whoever lost it would probably just go to them in the first place to see if they have it.

I gave him advice on what he should do if he plans on returning them. Because tbh taking them to an office lost and found may be less helpful; if the person who lost them was seeking them out they'd probably retrace their steps to find them. Not assume some stranger decided to drop their 30$ headphones off at the office.

I then told him that he shouldn't feel guilt for picking headphones up off the ground and keeping them, I didn't say anywhere theft is okay. Then I said that the internet is great at throwing things out of proportion; which you and Conquest proved very well.

You didn't say anything, dude; you just gave someone a green light to keep something that you decided to take free reign on offering up which doesn't belong to you … Probably to sound cool, or justify your own immorality.

Taking lost headphones to the office is less helpful? Wow, you really just like rewriting the rules of reality, don't you? Now the lost & found, designed to be a helpful arena for anyone who loses something to find their lost goods—has become an impediment to the person finding something that doesn't belong to them. Yea, what a huge hurdle to losing something … I'll tell ya, that lost & found. Of all places—it helps NO ONE find something they lost, and really adds to throw stumbling blocks into people's path. *rolls eyes*

And they certainly can't retrace their steps to find something they found when dude is holding onto it; your logic is wicked. Admit it.

This kind of reasoning has been decaying society for quite some time; guilt is a reflection of our own inner sense of reasoning—not something we are forcing onto him; you are tempting him to appeal to his greed to look & sound cool. Grow up

You know what man, you are absolutely right. I am nothing but a pawn in the hands of satan. Thank you for guiding me towards the light of our all knowing lord and savior. For too long I have been misled by the mindless sheep leading our desecrated society, there is nothing okay about taking another's property and turning it into a gift to feed your own greed. Well, what u mean I didn't see who lost them, so I took em. Yeah there's a thing called the lost an found but honestly, it's the same ditch as the loudspeakers, they'd just take it straight from the lost and found box and leave with it.

HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT DJ MEOW!!!! WHAT GIVES YOU THE AUTHORITY TO DECIDE THAT YOU ARE THE ONE TO TAKE THEM?? Atleast if you left them in the lost and found the new owner of those headphones would be chosen through the grace of God, and not through your own selfish and wicked desires.

I mean the "right" thing to do would be to take them to lost and found, but I wouldn't consider keeping them stealing. I mean it's entirely up to DJ Meow as to what he does, but I say keep them if you think that's fair.

Honestly whenever I lose anything I will search everywhere until I find it, if I don't find it then okay too bad.

holy **** you guys getting this mad over stolen headphones? general rule of thumb in highschool, if you leave anything on the floor thats not a phone or wallet, money, books or something veery noticable. its automatically up for grabs. did op do the right thing? no, but op did nothing bad at all. it was on the floor so its anyones really

Jut hand them in to the school office - it's not like you'll lose anything by doing so. If you choose to keep them then it's really up to you, but remember that if you wear the headphones around, chances are you'll run into the original owner and they'll notice.

I once accidentally left my photography tripod on a bench at a train station and when I returned three minutes later they were gone. No-one handed it into the office so it looks like whoever found it decided to keep it. It wasn't such a nice feeling.

Theyre already at my house. The bass is amazing. White Iverson is probaly the best expierence I've had listening to with these earphones. **** goes hard.
