I beleive the earth to be flat does anyone still beleive in the old theory of the earth being round?

If you looked out on the horizon of the sea and the earth was flat, you'd see the next island/place along eventually? The horizon drops off since the earth is round lol

Make sure not to bring a space suit and emerse your self

it's easy to prove the earth is round because the center of gravity and our acceleration vector is always straight down and never skews left or right.

Really, there's no reason to ask if the earth is flat; we know it isn't. However, I think that wondering whether or not the earth is hollow (a giant bubble) is more curious. I personally believe that the earth is just a gathered pearl, however.

I did hear recently though that the earth may have layers of matter over top of atmospheres; in other words, for whatever reason—and I haven't given it much thought to make an opinion about it yet—but I'll just say: The idea is that in unreachable spaces underneath the earth's crust there are layers of gaps, which in a superficial hypothesis sounds like it could be possible. Again, I haven't analyzed the theory much myself

If so, you're onto something there considering our moon was basically formed that way.

I'd say its a safe assumption that the Earth was formed the same way as well.

Yes; but I think I should elaborate about the rest of that posts as well on a side note. The theory I heard recently is that there is an ocean beneath the earth's crust with pockets of air; not sure how it could all work out, but there could be an entirely humanoid creature evolved on shores beneath the crust. It's far-fetched and I'm just throwing it out there as an enormous stretch of a possibility, but from what I was told there is evidence of an internal ocean beneath the crust. I haven't researched it yet but that's what this thread is for

Well if there was a large enough gap underneath the crust I'm really surprised the Earth's surface hasn't collapsed on itself yet.

If you read the website he linked about why the Earth is flat one of the main reasons they state is what the bible says.

The website says the Bible is more accurate than Nasa.

Its a scientific thread.

Not that I give a **** because I don't believe EVERYTHING in the Bible, but Leviticus doesn't condemn people to hell. In fact, the concept of hell was reminiscent more of a purgatory, Hades, Sheol, etc.

The more recent defamations of the term "hell" were taken from Christ, then abused by the church as a dangling carrot of reward/punishment for control. Essentially, though, Christ taught "hell" as a place of rejection from the church; he equated those who would not love others as being weeds/chaff to be burned during the harvest. It wasn't a literal place anymore than the elect should believe that heaven is a place where they will be bundled as wheat, ground into barley, & made into sandwiches.
