Kidney Stones

Hello everyone, earlier today I just had my twelfth kidney stone, and the doctors are stumped, and so am I. By the time I was fifteen I had seven kidney stones and now I'm at 12, and just found out I have eight more split between my two kidneys.

As you can probably imagine it has been a terrible weight on my life considering how painful kidney stones are. And before you say, "Change your diet, and drink more milk" or whatever, trust me I'm on a diet and I have been for years, I am also not overweight or even remotely close, so that isn't the problem.

If anyone can provide any insight, that would be amazing as even the doctors are stumped at this point as to why they keep forming. It's pretty terrible having these ****ing things so much.

Edit: When I was a baby I had some water in my lungs, and the stones are all indeed calcium stones.

Drink more water and use the bathroom regularly.

That's all I got to say.

Listen my old friend all the pot probably isn't helping, a bowl or cone a day isn't good for you.

Will do, the weed actually sort of helps if I'm high when I have an attack.

If you're on a diet of lots of milk, that may be a part of the problem due to all the calcium, considering the stones are calcium as well. Not sure if you are, though. What is your current diet?

If the ones who spent many years of their life to diagnose things like this are stumped, I doubt anyone on here knows anything. Perhaps try to consult a specialist for this sort of deal if you haven't already.

The doctor told me I need MORE calcium which shocked me because that seems very counter-intuitive haha.

And I eat healthy, I usually make my own meals, I try and incorporate the correct amount of each food group in every meal, so I don't know what I'm really doing wrong at this point.

I've been to a countless number of specialists. I've met some very intelligent people on these forums though, and any information is helpful

Could be the meat you eat. My father gets them from time to time.

I've had only two in my life, so I cannot even imagine what you must be going through! I was told to cut back on milk and it's been a good 7 years since my last one.

Weird, the doctor has been telling me for a while to drink MORE milk, I'll ease up on it a bit and see how it goes, thanks for the help!

Filthy cheat "doctor" probably wants you to come back so he told you to drink more.

I've heard that too, they said that red meat correlates with it, which is odd because I don't eat too much red meat.

I hope everything goes well for you! Also, I was told I was having way too much salt and they were the cause of my stones specifically, but that may be different than your case. It was so hard since salty foods were, and to this day are my favorite foods.

Distorted_P2P 12-02-2015 07:20 AM

I've always been a salt person, when I was younger I'd prefer chips over ice cream, and basically loved anything with salt. That might be something I should check into :o thank you so much!

Just had the biggest kidney stone of my entire life, just got out of the hospital.

5 mm.

Mangsi 12-03-2015 02:45 PM

Owch D: that must have hurt like hell, did you pass it on your own or was it surgically removed?

SouthernZombie* 12-03-2015 03:53 PM

My mom had some and she couldn't move and just kept crying, so I hope you get better!

It is still inside me, they just discharged me from the hospital. There's a chance I'll pass it, but if not then yeah I'll have to have it removed.

Second kidney stone in four weeks

Dude. I'm sorry. I've had friends that had these and I heard it sucks. Like some of the other posters, and you said, I don't think drinking more milk is going to help..

Good luck

Howl 12-04-2015 12:32 PM

Ouchies. Hope the problem is found soon! Get better :)
