Let me just start by saying that I know that there has been other threads about this, but they are extremely old and outdated, and I thought it would be refreshing to see a new thread about this wonderful interpretation of Pokémon. But just in case you want to see the old threads for referencing, here they are.


Okay, so PokeMMO is basically a wonderful interpretation of Pokémon's Fire Red game, with a ton of exciting new aspects!

The most important aspect of course if the overworld filled with other players! You heard me right, you can play with other players. If that doesn't bring you into the game, I don't know what will.

Next on this list, but not technically a new feature is battling! You can easily ask players who you encounter to battle you, without the hassle of connecting through some alternative means. (You Pokémon fans will know what I'm talking about, above the PokeCenter. :P)

Next on this list is trading! Just like in all Pokémon games, Pokémon Trading is a thing! Just more convenient as you can see from the Screenshot I'll post below, among other things such as trading, and spectating the player in their current battle, which can be accessed just by right-clicking on the player.

Customization! A feature fans have constantly been begging for, well; beg no more! In this game customization is a key factor to the game.

Other features which don't really deserve their own category.

• Pokemon following you! Just look at my profile picture, that's taken straight from the game.
• Amazing storyline, will keep you entertained for hours.
• Pokemon from multiple generations to collect.

The only downside is the playerbase is made up of different languages, but it's not rare to come across English speaking players.

I completed the kanto region one weekend not that long ago on this :) was a fun nostalgia trip with the extra multiplayer fun on top

Game runs on both Windows and Mac by the way, not sure if it officially supports Mac yet but last I played you had to do some stuff on your own to set it up.

If you have a Mac just Google it and it's pretty straight forward, I'll redownload it and get into it now that some other Graalians are playing :)

I played it before but they wiped my progress because I left for a couple months, I won't be coming back. I get that they want to save on data storage costs, but when running an MMO you never delete inactive player data, it harms your ability to get players to return.

You're required to use FireRed, optional is HeartGold.

I would strongly reccomend adding HeartGold after FireRed.
