CIA has decided to release hundreds of documents they have gathered on UFO sightings throughout the years, really neat stuff to read.

Just thought I would share this link for anyone interested

UFO doesn't necessarily mean aliens, but there was a ton of weird sightings recorded in these documents that would make you think so

This really shows the power of government FOIA requests.

I have a slightly unrelated story about FOIAs. This takes place in Junior year of high school, with me as editor on our school's newspaper staff. I was given the assignment of investigating the Orwellian school web-filtering policies in our school system, so I decided to make our newsroom's first official FOIA request.

Now, usually journalists only make FOIA requests when they can't request information through other means (such as interviews or research), but I had just been introduced to the concept of requesting this sort of information, and wanted to try out my newfound journalistic power and decided to take the nuclear option.

This was not a good idea. I sent the request to the county's public information officer, and apparently caused a lot of frightened talk in the administration building. A few days later, my principal was contacted and long story short, I had a little chat with the principal.

Really shows you how something as simple as a FOIA request can make very powerful people interested in you. Pressure from the administration forced me to cancel my request. Was a funny experience though.

Richard Nixon's Star Wars project is still believed to be going on to this day, a space defense initiative, despite having been announced being cancelled practically from the start. Evidently, they use these badass triangular space ships, which is also believed to be what many of the UFO sightings are.

One time, I had a weird dream where I was walking along a road at night, and I looked up and saw a triangular ship ready to touch ground, so I moved out the way and got a close look. It was sort of like a triangular prism, but very short. It was equilateral, where the ratio from prism hight to triangle height was probably 1:7. The two bases (bottom and top) were white, and the wall around the prism was orange. There was a giant circular hole in the middle of the triangle that took most of the area, and the circumference of the circle was shooting down a bright cyan blue colored light, which I imagine was the propulsion. Lastly, I could tell where the front of the ship was by seeing a domed window sticking out from the top base near one of the corners, which was likely the cockpit. I've been trying to figure out if that sort of ship is possible to exist, so I did research, but I still don't think I quite understand how it would function.

Anyway, when I found out about the triangular ships in the Star Wars program, I was instantly reminded of that dream I had.

Also, to note, there is still tons of documents related to this they have not released because it contains sensitive information and information that only the government should know.

This will only be true if Colin comes back probed by the aliens in their flying saucer.

But the question is, why? What legit reason does the CIA have to release documents like this? Obviously none confirm extraterrestrial activity... but I'm just saying, it seems fishy they would release these documents supposedly unedited IMO.

I dont think theres anything "fishy" about it. I would compare it similar to how those JFK oval office tapes were released a few years back; there was just no reason to keep it secret anymore, and some people would find it interesting. I dont think the CIA is saying "aliens exist," obviously. The title does leave it open to "fact or fiction." It was probably just released because some people would find it interesting

also, part of releasing them does actually have to do with the x-files, sort of a celebration of the reboot I guess and they even told directors they could use some of the documents to create episodes if they wanted
