First attempt at dubstep

I know there are some very talented music artists in this community. So I decided to share some of mine.

I've just recently felt the urge to start making music again after a long hiatus.
Constructive criticism is gladly welcomed and appreciated!

I looked at your channel and the 20 second music clip is much better than the song imo

Some of the sounds I liked, others not so good - very conflicted (that loud electronic wowowo sound for example)
Not much of a drop, if there was one I didn't really notice it, if its dubstep it needs a drop.

But ya overall not bad, was good listening to it, minus the wowowo noise.

I agree with Admiral. Less randomness and more structure

Thanks for the feedback! I tested out the different sounds as I recorded and hoped for the best. When I listen to it I understand what you mean about conflicting sounds, I'll definitely keep these things in consideration when I make my next video

How can i have it be structured without being too repetitive?

Jared9 02-27-2016 10:40 PM

Less random woops or w/e, more repetition I guess and have distinct sections to the song. I could hardly tell where I was in the song. Reffer to others to see what they're doing and how they do their cheese. I found this stuff on youtube not long ago. May help: https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...inst+the+clock

Personally I think it doesn't sound great until :40

Made another one, based on the first but shorter (and probs better)

Ivy 02-27-2016 11:56 PM

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NeXPfZTFRuI Ok I think I got that out of my system, for now at least.

dubstep hit its peak in terms of commercial success and popularity around 2011-2012, that's not consistent with "its ben ded 4 8-9 yearz!!!!"

Asaiki 03-04-2016 03:16 PM

I like the Lucalopex

GenoIndeed 03-04-2016 07:12 PM

What program and plugin/vsts do you use to make music?

Also, it was ok, but needed to transition better, didnt build up that smoothly

She uses GarageBand.

GenoIndeed 03-04-2016 08:33 PM

Using a pc program like fl studio will work much better

Ivy 03-04-2016 11:04 PM

I don't like FL studio.

GenoIndeed 03-05-2016 02:09 AM

I didn't mean use that specifically, I meant using something where you have more access to stuff that an app can't do will work out much better for you

Actually, my laptop is a piece of ****. I have no intention of using any of programs for music. It's just not easily accessible and it's super annoying and inconvenient

Go tablet master race

HeftyWood 03-05-2016 03:52 AM

I used FL studio and massive plugin. But I don't make alot of dubstep. Mainly add drum tracks to my guitar tracks

GenoIndeed 03-05-2016 06:41 AM

I use sylenth mainly. I have massive and a lot of other top programs, but i dont use them much .-.

How does garageband work for you so far? Has it been doing better for you than other apps?

Ivy 03-05-2016 02:29 PM

Garageband is everything I've ever wanted, especially with it being free

With garageband, can you only use the stuff that comes with it, or add your own sound files to use?

Ivy 03-05-2016 07:34 PM

You can add your own sound files

GenoIndeed 03-05-2016 07:36 PM

If you want, i can give you some links to sites where you can get free sounds from, i got them myself to mix and stuff

Ivy 03-05-2016 07:37 PM

Please, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Loops are also really great :v

GenoIndeed 03-05-2016 07:48 PM

Most are loops. Theres a lot of everything tho, loops, synths, one shot sounds, drums, all kinds of instruments. Is your kik still the same?

Nvm, i dont think youre in my contacts, idk why. Pm me your username

I use my own sound files, or by simply using their piano for synths. :D
