Wearing the umbrella hat, perfect timing, I also got my japanese sun cap and raincoat.

Would be cool if they added puddles to jump in and mud or random slipping.

Yeah, randomized weather effects would be awesome.
And let's hope the bug prices are lowered to make way for an additional 'job' that the bugs may be useful in... :D

Only if the effects are purely cosmetic. If there are some features added that make use of the weather effects, logically you shouldn't be able to disable it.

Well, that's what I'm getting at by asking the question... Is there an actual purpose of the rain, and if so what is it?

Maybe it's just a simple feature. Just for cosmetic purposes to make the game feel more alive, and as if time is passing.

or because insects tend to take cover when it rains, so it could be for comedic purposes.

Could be to spawn different types of bugs throughout the day.

For example, ants (I know there aren't any on graal), but they move into houses when it gets humid, going to rain, based on the weather.

Snails (Again, no snails) They move into bushes when it rains, and when it stops they leave.

Fireflies at night, probably spiders too, which you can only spot on trees if you have a lantern. It would have to be somewhat dark though.

But yeah, I guess, if it rains, the insects take cover.

Would be nice if they added more, like wind (gravity-like effect at destiny tower)
thunder (get hit by lightning and you drop a few hearts?)

When it rains, higher worm spawn rate?

Turned my sound on to see if rain made any noise...

Can we appreciate the fact that they added sound for the rainfall.
If you go inside a building, you can hear the rain a little muzzled.
Once you go into another room, the sound is gone. Pretty nice.

If it weren't for some other annoying sounds, like pogos and what not, I'd keep sound on.

I wonder why message sounds (and rain) can't be made to count as 'music' and not 'sounds' in the menu relating to if they are toggled on or off?


On an unrelated note, the Blob indicator from my map doesn't seem to show now... anyone seen the giant blob appear since the rain started?

I tried that when Destiny first opened. Thought I had discovered something awesome...

And is the rain ever gonna go away and come back another day? Or are we curing California of their drought?

With the recent addition to Onnet Town General Store with rain related material, one thing that should be tweaked should be the rain crystal. I think I prefer the current rain much more than the rain produced by the rain crystal, would be nice to see it be updated with the same features of rain as well, minus the puddle making of course.
