iPhone 6S vs Galaxy S7
Which phone is the best ?
Pls vote, the poll ends tomorrow. |
Galaxy definitely
|
2 completely different types of phones. Android offers a lot more options and capabilities, but iphones are polished and simple. I have an S4 but I'm thinking about getting an iphone next time. I don't need all that android crap.
|
I think iPhones 5s and up are pretty good since ios is easy to use and a lot more simpler but the s6 and up are amasing and advanced. (not sure about s5 though)

I used to be a diehard Android fan, but switched when I realized that Apple products are built to last. I have a 6S right now, and I also have a 6-year-old iPod Touch that still works perfectly. Much better than any Android I've had.

Everyone always says Apple products are amazing quality but all the ones I have had were awful. I've had my current Android phone (OnePlus One) for a couple of years now, I've never had a problem with it and I drop it a fair amount, yet it cost a third of the price of the iPhone I had. |
I recommend iPhone 6, yes they are expensive, but it is SO WORTH getting iOS + the App store rather than Android and Google Play. If you can get an iPhone SE instead (better hardware and more durable), go with that, because iOS is 1000000x more fluid than Android. Whether it's the quality of my phone (don't have galaxy 7) or not, android is extremely laggy and awful. There's also the vulnerability to viruses and things, android tends to be less secure (and rather than purchasing through the secure app store, you purchase through the app for in game purchases). Either way, apps can access some worrying permissions that you'll only really want to download 100% reliable apps like Facebook and Snapchat rather than dodgy ****.
TL;DR: iPhone is more functional and smooth and pretty but a little less customisable, Andriod has more varied capabilities but tends to be jolty/laggy/clogged up. |

I've never had a problem with lag on any of my recent Android phone and whenever someone complains about it with theirs they always have either a budget phone or a 5 years old one. The whole issue with viruses is exaggerated immensely. Yes, they exist - but it's the same with Windows, if you're careful and use your common sense you won't get them. When you download an app it always asks you if it can use each individual permission, so you can choose to not allow certain apps to use your camera or other things such as reading messages and it shows you all permissions the apps wants before you install it. Similarly with websites, you can't install or download potentially malicious files unless you explicitly allow it so just use your common sense and don't download files from websites that are obviously dangerous. Not sure what you mean about in-app purchases but from what I remember when I used iOS they're both very similar. You're right that iOS provides a smoother experience. But I don't see how that's worth the general increase in price along with the loss of flexibility, customizability and freedom. And that's only the OS, if you look at the amount of choice you have with Android phones and the different varieties (pretty sure there was something along the lines of 25,000 unique Android devices as of 2015) it's pretty easy to get a phone that fits your needs perfectly. If you want a phone that does the basics incredibly well for an extortionate price then yeah, get an iPhone. But if you want the freedom of Android that comes with unlimited customizability as well as the insane amount of choice what is usually a cheaper price then Android is probably your best option. As you can probably tell I really don't understand why people prefer iOS, it doesn't make sense to me lol. |
If you've ever used Android and iOS then make your choice based on which you prefer, not technical specs. When picking a phone between the two choices it will always come down to OS preference. I prefer Android because of the flexibility and choices I have with it, whereas a lot of people prefer iOS because it's simple--but that simplicity comes at a price when you can't customize anything.
Don't cave in to any biased suggestions such as that Android is "laggy" and "prone to viruses." Simply make the choice based on what you want out of a phone. |

But.... Android is so blocky! I'm assuming the OS type is the same for every device here when I say this, but android is so ugly and awful and argh!! I mean, look: Spoiler
iOS is SO much better in aesthetic and prettiness and oh my gosh Plus, the cloud system is pretty solid as well. While android does have all the Google accounts connected, I don't think it has anything like Photo Stream Either way, I think you and I Vendetta use our phones a tad differently. Asaiki, if you're still thinking of which one to buy, if design and smoothness is what's important to you, get the iPhone. |
My android never was laggy (Galaxy S4). A little over a year ago, their color update caused my phone to overheat a lot, but that's been fixed now. I really enjoy the android, especially being able to use an SD card for extra storage. I've never had a virus issue with my phone from websites or apps, and there's anti-virus software on my phone if there ever is an issue. I definitely wouldn't say no to an android just because of viruses or lag. In fact, I've noticed much more problems/lag with my older iOS devices than I have with my previous android devices. I have an S4 that's working generally just as good as it did the day I got it, but I have many performance issues with my iPad 4. Like people previously said, your main decision should be based on whether you want the simplicity and easiness of the iPhone, or the android and all it's capabilities. Unlimited storage is also very nice to have on the android, but I guess you can get a USB that works for Apple devices.

Also, my friend has bad experiences with his 1 year old Galaxy Note. A phone shouldn't be something you replace every year; it should last you a while. Furthermore, software patches for Android phones are infrequent because they have to be pushed by the carrier. If a carrier doesn't want to support a particular brand of phones anymore, say goodbye to your secure Android if a zero-day is found. Not to mention, it gets really annoying to wait for the new software version after sometimes a year after the official Android release. In iOS, this isn't the case. Software patches are sent by Apple as soon as they release. I really don't get this whole Android and Apple war. I'm just listing my own personal experiences. Quote:

This is closer to what you might find on a current Android device: Spoiler
The thing is you can customise everything, from the way folders and icons look to how the notification bar is laid out so there isn't a proper "Android" look as everyone's can be different. Quote:
The Google cloud/drive system on Android is amazing. All photos, videos, app data, messages, contacts and pretty much everything on your phone is backed up and can be accessed from a browser or mobile. You can pretty much factory reset your phone and restore everything to exactly how it was. Quote:

Wait doesn't the s7 have wireless charging? That's a game changer.
*update* not sure if the little wireless pad thing has a wire |
I've always preferred the iOS interface over Android.
Much simpler and not visual herpes. I once had to borrow my dad's Galaxy S3 for the weekend and holy ****, I was close to just smashing that thing and getting him an iPhone. Quote:

if you're tech illiterate get an iphone, otherwise you basically pick whichever one you prefer.
i dislike both operating systems but android seems less ******ed. mine still has some dumb**** though, like there's no filter to make it so only phone contacts show up in my phonebook, so i basically have 14 years of google emails in my phone app's contact list. |
Quote:
http://androidforums.com/threads/del...ntacts.522815/ Also make sure your mail app of choice doesn't have the option to merge contacts enabled. But I agree it's dumb. No reason imo to ever want to merge e-mail contacts. Maybe if e-mail contacts were manually managed like phone contacts, but it's just a history list of every single person you've ever e-mailed or have been e-mailed from. No need for that ****. |

my mail app is just gmail and i use a gmail acct. |
I've went from iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S5 to a HTC One M8 and finally a Galaxy Note 5. Honestly I had a way better experience with my S5 than the HTC and iPhone.
iPhone battery was was dying faster months after I had it and I wasn't even playing graal then and this was back in 2010 when I didn't even have internet so I was downloading games over my friends house. My brother has a iPhone 6S and it dies after about 5-6 hours. He's had it since his birthday last year. My S5 lasted over 10 hours when I went on a road trip and I had it since 2014.. Galaxy S7 has even better battery then that. Cameras on both are good and the app store on both feels the same to me just a little, but it feels iPhone might have a bit more apps. I kinda do miss face time though. Overall I like android more because its feels more high tech in my hands. Their are so many things that make it feel like a mini computer to me. |
I'm getting the onepuss three because my one m8 died

I know its the most brightest and lowest screen for any android phone which is good Also the finger print sensor on it turned me on What kind of bugs are you experiencing? |
Quote:
theres a glitch related to priority calls (the oneplus 2 has this little button that goes from no alerts - priority calls only - all calls). i never use it but it sometimes just doesnt ring when people call me. i have to flick the switch up and down again for it to fix. this is ****ING STUPID because this is a PHONE FIRST AND EVERYTHING ELSE SECOND. if its function as a phone is bugged then we have a massive problem other than that oxygenOS really stepped it up. the previous version was very slow, glitchy, and just a bad experience. this current one is good, almost like a vanilla android phone. i use google launcher so its almost exactly like using my nexus 5. |
ONEPLUSTHREE IS SO SMOOOOOOTTHHH MAN
