Single Spar Tournament Winter 2017
 

On January 3rd, 2017 at 3 PM EST, I will be hosting a singles spar tournament in my guild house. There will be 32 participants battling it out for the podium. The winner will receive a $25 gift card of their choice.

I'll update the bracket live. Scoring:

- 1 point for a correct first round prediction
- 2 points for a correct second round prediction
- 4 points for a correct semifinals prediction
- 8 points for a correct finals prediction

You don't have to predict a score, just the winner of the match. Put your name in the bracket's title if you want to enter the contest. If two people pick the exact same bracket and it ends up having the highest score, we'll just give the win to the person who submitted their bracket first.

Was inspired by Sarah's tournament to do something in order to keep the sparring community active while we wait for updates & GST. GL & HF.

My guess is these will all be best of 5s until semis or finals?

How many spars per round ? Is it best out of 5 ? First to 5?

Seems very unlikely you'll get anywhere near to all 32 sparrers online at the same time though

Other potential winners imo could be Exalt, Dark, and John.

Forgot to post this information:
- Round 1 Best of 3
- Round 2 First to 3
- Quarterfinals first to 5
- Semifinals first to 5
- Finals first to 10 (Win by 2)

Also, I was thinking of having reserves just in case people didn't show up. However, someone brought up the point that the bracket predictions could be ruined by this so not sure what will happen here. Will judge it by the amount who don't show up -knok the wood-, unless someone has a better idea.

James205 said he should be able to stream this on his twitch, so that's cool shoutouts to 205.

Only way to not mess with predictions is to just give byes to the people who have a no-show opponent, unfortunately.

And of course, even that may have an affect on the predictions also.

If people can't show up and make it known ahead of time I will replace them with whoever would like to enter just message me in game and i'll add you to the list. Will announce it for people to be able to edit their brackets. But if they don't show up for the tournament it will just be a DQ.

was thinking before i saw the bracket at this rate u guys are gonna be paying for thallens christmas shopping at this rate lol

It was a hard choice, but I think that jacks overall experience over John will be the difference. I don't know if I could feel comfortable picking him after he lost to Alexx first round of alumni's tourney(not that Alexx is bad, but I think that jack is better than he is).

i really like how the tournament is balanced; there is no clear cut favorite over the others. It leaves a lot of room for brackets to be largely different

I got Alexx winning the whole thing, Exalt 2nd, John and Dark 3rd/4th.

Both of those semifinals (Exalt/John, Alexx/Dark) have the potential to go either way though, especially the top one imo.

Inco cannot make it to the tournament so his spot went to the first person on the waitlist: Fulgore. Don't forget you can still upgrade your brackets for the contest.

My prediction is still perfect two picks in, nice. I'm sure everyone's bracket will be busted by the time round 1 is over though
