Wintery Considerations
 

First, make it so people can't survive in freezing water without even a special item. Next, I recently mentioned in the new map general thread that I think another, larger, mountain should be added behind the Snow Town mountain, ideally with a river valley between them (I miss the old one), and that there should be an item that allows players to explore mountains more easily (e.g. ice climbing equipment).

Please tell me where there is any item in the game that bars you from actual content locked behind a large paywall.

The only items that you have to buy which bar you from content are the 4000 gralat draisine and the 2000 gralat lantern. I wouldn't consider either of those to be "large paywalls".

Nexus has only ever added purely cosmetic items that never change or tweak core game play therefore it can't be considered content that is blocked by large paywalls. The only thing you can argue in that regard is the Oasis map requiring an active subcription but again that map only has cosmetics as well.

The flute. Also almost every quest.

You consider the flute to be content? And you don't need to pay for quests.

What about the shovel? Or the burger? Or the 500g fish?

What about the 20,000 gralts for the blacksmith house?

Paywalls are usually in place to *force* players to pay for exclusive content that cannot be accessed through any other means but paying real life cash.

The closest that this game comes, to my knowledge, is the Guild House pack. This costs real money for i-devices (or so I've heard). You can, however, log in through facebook or flash client and get them for 12,500 gralats!

Character slots but that's kind of minor not sure why everyone gets it. (On idevices it costs 3 bucks, 7.5k gralats.on pc)

Don't forget uploads! That's the only way to become noticed on graal!

I like this idea, would change a lot of things. You could use the climbing physics from the wall climber event for the ice climbing except with tools.

A limited time event ice fishing contest? Where you can compete daily for the biggest fish
( basically run to an ice hole and have an RNG pick your number/weight, kinda like a reskin of the lottery system from that Aniversary event) Maybe even run it for three days and call it a fishing derby

Then have the three winners.... ah heck do something anyhow

Then have a grand champion from those three players

The word "limited" just makes it sound like a waste of time, IMO.
I want ice fishing for as long as Classic still runs. Hell, I don't care if it becomes a competitive sport.

Fact of the mater is: Snow Town needs something new to it- not just some capsule machine so that it's popular for two to three days before everyone gets bored with it. I'm talking something that's fun and engaging that can actually make Snow Town... well, a snow town, really.

could be cool if water closer to snow town would freeze over... maybe there could be holes in the ice to catch fish? either way would be cool... skating would be fun

Maybe make it a classic shell game, three ice fishing holes to choose from and only one has a fish. Then exchange fish for prizes

Sorry for a late response... but did Graal implement anything fun like rock climbing or ice fishing yet?

Events are now hosted daily by automated bots... and there's a 'cliff climber' event :)

But no. At this point there's only Bounty, Loot, and Bugs for making money still.
