Playstation 4 or Nintendo Switch
 

So I've kept my old PS3 for about let's say 7 years now and I've been looking for a console that I think I'll be using for a long time, Ever since the PS4 launched I always wanted to get one but could never afford it and it had all of my childhood games on it, Crash Bandicoot for example. Now I have been thinking of getting the Switch within this year as well (when the price drops) so I could play another childhood game of mine...Zelda. Now I want to buy one of them but I'm not sure, I don't travel a lot but when I do I usually go to very far places and I don't have a lot of friends who have neither the Switch or Playstation 4, I know the choice is up to me but what can you guys recommend to me?



I already bought a PS4 but we had to sell it because we were out of money, I only played 3 games for it so I never really got to experience it as much as I wanted to and I'm considering of buying it again or the Switch

Imo, get a PS4. Wait until the Switch get more games then snatch it

Yeah I'd wait a year to buy the Switch.

I wouldn't get the switch yet until they release more games and the price drops.

It still depends on the types of games you enjoy. Sure, Zelda's great. But would you rather play Splatoon 2 or Death Stranding? Personally, in my opinion a PS4 is the better option. Much more games, and much more serious games. I like darker games a lot more. That's really what you should consider, what types of games you like.

Also keep in mind that the Switch will be getting a paid online service so you'll have to pay monthly just to play mario kart online.

Dunno, maybe if the Switch's price drops I MAY just buy it, but now I'm leaning more towards the PS4. Thanks for all who replied to the post :)

Playstation has a paid online service as well? The Nintendo online service is also cheaper (although there are less online games).

To OP, I would get the PS4 first and then get the Switch later on if I were you.

yea but he said he doesn't care to play online, but with games like Mario Kart, online service would be needed just to play matches. PS4 has tons of single player games that make the system worth it. Mario Kart is like 1/3 of the reason people buy Nintendo consoles.

The switch has had alot of problems, i'd wait a while for it. Plus PS4 is going to have some good exclusives

PS4's introductory price was 400 bucks and Xbox 1's introductory price was 500 bucks as well but guess what, they had more than 1 decent game that you could buy at launch.

The fact that you think 500 bucks is in any way "cheap" is comedy gold.

You can buy a brand new PS4 for 300 bucks or a used one for almost half depending on where you buy it from. And you have tons of games to chose from.

Yeah I know the retail price is only 300 dollars but its sold tf out everywhere so if you want one right now you'll have to cough up an extra 100+ dollars.

Lol we've been saying they're one of the only people who are currently selling these things because the Switch is sold in pretty much every authorized retailer.

They're not dumb they're admittedly very clever in trying to sucker people into buying a hot product at a much higher price.

If you're buying off Ebay, the cheaper ones will start off cheap but in no time their price will vastly exceed the usual market price as people place bids unless like I said you're lucky.

I saw one currently selling for 58 dollars but I guarantee you in a couple of days, that price will reach over 300 dollars.

Yet there's people selling at lower prices, so I mean if you wanna buy the higher priced ones and be nice, nobodies stopping you. But I guess only jackasses would buy the cheaper ones.

you can actually get a ps4/xb1 slim for $250 almost all the time right now. It'a a sale price but some store almost always has that sale price going on. Plus it includes a free game with it, sometimes 2. Thousands of games on ps4 or 1 game on Switch... tough choice.

What's even funnier than the Switch releasing with BOTW as the only real game is them also selling 1 2 Switch for $50

I'm agreeing with 5hift on this one. Yeah it isn't hard to find a Switch thats on sale, but the chances of it being used are high, and not to mention anything can be wrong with it explaining why it's price so low. It also doesn't have many games, so now is definitely the wrong time to purchase a Switch in my opinion, but instead wait until the holiday season when their are more bundles! People will be selling new consoles around $300 with more games included to get your moneys worth!

Saving up for a PS4 but if somehow the Switch surprises me with something I might consider it but for now PS4 is the most likely choice for me.
