A Quick Update
 

Hey everyone!

I'm here to give you a little sneak peek on what will be happening tomorrow. We've been receiving your feedback on basing and agree it needs an improvement. So here's the plan. First we will open all the bases again and remove the AFK timer. Then we will be changing the dynamics of gang points. You will no longer be earning gang points per minute while asleep in a base. Earning gang points will be based on killing players from other gangs while you are on a tag and inside a base. I'm personally very excited for this change and can already see the possibilities that this will be expanded on in the future.

By putting this into effect we hope this will encourage active basing. Along with gangs choosing selective peaces. If all of the gangs are peaced with one another then they won't earn gang points. We also want to make future gang point items more difficult to obtain, since they should be flaunted about to show your skill. Much like event items are.

First you will need to scrap original items and restock fully of guildshop with this update implemented same time.. This update will more reward the active pkers/guild players(that's a good thing don't get me wrong)but peacing is very different it may slightly improve how things are but at the end of the day peacing will always exist and is pretty hard to destroy - Only minimal bases+Cuts on members(i.e 10members max) would improve peacing. It's basically obvious idkwhy servers haven't gone to that point yet. less players in guilds but like 3/4forts =more competition -harder but if server actually started like that in first place it would have been natural.

I don't know if you actually play this server at all anymore, but there was a point where nobody would attack anybody because they were all in an alliance together. If you visit the link I provided at the bottom you will see that the majority of the players only base to get gang points. Which is the reason the peacing became such a big problem. They all decided to not attack each other and just AFK in the base to collect gang points. Now if they do that, those gangs which consisted mainly of just gang point chasers won't get gang points. We're obviously not trying to remove peacing altogether. We just don't want bases to become a boring place to AFK at.

I've always supported the idea of decreasing the gang size to increase competition. I would rather have a gang size of fifteen that way more competition and when the gangs are awarded, everyone will actually receive the reward err it would be easier to pick.

Peacing would of happened anyway- Classic prime example, the gang points just helped it along.. I'm more in favour of this update though as pking was like main activity I liked doing lol not that I play much on many servers now but just giving input; may pop in now and then. *Cough* Graalonline Worlds year 3000*cough*

Finally basing system won't be whack

Doesn't this mean the best way to farm gp will be going solo on a guild tag and pking bases 24/7?

I thought he meant you get gp in base killing people who come into base not on tag killing them.

Not sure how well it will be recepted, since gp will now be earned by kills should currently earned gp only be allowed for purchasing the existing shop items as oppose to future ones? I'm not sure if this makes sense, afk points & pk points = old items and new items = pk points

Nerf the current GP items (stats should be bad just a cool looking weapon), then make a New GP currency and open a New room with items.

Basing is great again, all that needs to be done now is go back to death animations in bases, instead of teleporting outside on death and having a freeze, to death animation inside base, then teleport outside with no freeze. Also when you log out in a base, the next time you log on, you should spawn outside the base, not inside of it.

Also maybe even revamp bases or change layout of them

It's about time. I've been running around yelling my face off about this whole thing for months, but they all turn their noses up at me and go back to sit AFK in their holes "basing"...

I'm gonna try not to get too lengthy with this, but my adrenaline is pumping and I have a lot to say. I'm quitting this flaming piece of crap soon anyways, so it'll be the last time you have to hear some actual Whippy logic. Pay attention, please.

First of all, GAMES ARE MEANT TO BE PLAYED.

^ I don't think kids today realize this. They're all out for the easy life. When someone literally asks for donations in a VIDEO GAME, I just die... what's the matter, kid? You can't even play your own video game anymore? Are you THIS lazy that you have to have someone else play it for you? The Earth is literally doomed if we keep allowing our children to have this mentality... I live in the USA, and thought "Oh, 'Murica kids are just spoiled rotten while the rest of the world is raising their kids dirt poor, but with moral and value."- WRONG. Graal has made me realize that this entire smart-phone era is warping THE WORLD. In fact, sorry but (not biased- truthful), American kids aren't even close to the worst I've met in this game.

I digress.

Games are meant to be played. I grew up, sitting in the floor, playing Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt with my little brother... we'd play for an hour or two, and after not saving the princess for the 100th time, we'd go outside and play some kick ball with our friends... Video games were a luxury, and we didn't abuse it. Graal promotes abuse- this corrupt basing system, and the players who participate in it, are promoting abuse. Succumbing to the system. It's sucking away our lives for nothing.

What happened to "Let's throw down in Super Smash Bros. for 15mins while dinner is cookin', and then get back to our lives." ?

1,500 hours base time = 62 and 1/2 days of your life gone.

Who can blame kids for holing up together with such a crumby task at hand?- They are finished conquering each other- they are conquering the game. Silence is conquering the game- sure, they are ruining the fun- sure they've turned this glorious "3-base" system into an actual 2-base system... but to be perfectly blunt, it's ALWAYS been a 3-base system, and at the end of the day, you can't blame them.

"5-base" System:

MH = Knife Party
TS = Silence
BF = Muffin's army
BW = Some kinda OP gang consisting of Mexico, Brazil, Philippines
Bank = A cluster of nab gangs

^ So in reality, with MH and TS completely off-limits, I call THIS the actual "3-base" system.

This game is turning kids into raging lunatics. When you literally get mocked for logging out to do something irl, it's a problem. So unless you continue to want THIS to occur:

Silence Peace: Guala, Risque, Saith
Guala Peace: Silence, Risque
Risque Peace: Saith, Silence, Guala
Saith Peace: Silence, Risque

^ I'll give it to you in clearer terms:

Silence: Attacks no one
Guala: Attacks Saith

5uicide 5quad: Attacks EVERYONE lol, and peace with a few nab gangs to make them feel validated; maybe pick up a few straggler members here or there.

^ THIS is playing the game... THIS is the ONLY reason I joined SS. Believe me- I had offers from the "big guys"... but after trying it- didn't work for me at all:

I'm getting long-winded, I know. Sorry, but if you can spend 1,000 hours of your life shooting other kids in a box, you can at least hear me out, right?

I feel the same way about basing as I do about weapons. Sure, guys, working for rewards is cool, but listen... THE GAME IS GOING TO IMPLODE UPON ITSELF.

I SAY TO YOU AGAIN.

How? How, Whippy, how?

Just like you chuckle heads had to nerf the GP staffs TWICE, you're gonna have to do the EXACT same thing to ALL of the GP/HS weapons... because SOONER OR LATER, EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE FLIPPING GAME IS GOING TO OWN ONE... an entire game of players, running around with Crystal Bows & Nature Destroyers.

And THAT is inevitable logic, my friends.

I have still, after 2,000+ hours of my time here, refused to buy into this garbage. I can tell you, even back in the day, when GP staffs could melt entire cities, I refused... a quote from a random admirer: "Whippy, you were always my favorite staff user because you never used it against noobs."

Sure sure, I use my stupid Turkey Blaster nowadays when things get hot... but I never abuse it. Especially seeing as how everyone hates 5uicide 5quad, and we've had an infinite supply of adolescents jumping down our throats 24/7 for the past year, I don't feel that a little gobble-gobble-gobble hurts anyone lol...

At the end of the day, I don't believe in it, and I refuse to give in to this "Spam-you-to-death-because-I-can't-aim" ideology.

This brings me to my second fix:

No HS weapons, No GP weapons, No shotguns.

^ Let's see how many "pros" we have after that change, eh?... Oh, don't worry about me- I like to gobble-gobble kids just as much as the next guy, but I had much rather be weaving through bullets with my .45 (and we can't play like this- we can't play like actual pros- we can't PLAY the game with "Johnny and Suzy No-Skill" crouched over in the corner, hammering out 50-bullet-spam waves- because their ignorance/conscience allows them to- while the semi-adults are over here .45-ing it)...

^Again, let's see how many "pros" we have with such a drastic change as this.

"But Whippy, what will happen to Events and Basing with no HS/GP guns?"

Simple, aimgos... OP toys & Weapon Skins.

Let that sink in for a sec...

Example:
If at holidays, there was a Halloween Sovereign Bow skin... instead of some kinda-meh bow with kinda-different stats that will either be forgotten, or used for a week, nerfed and THEN forgotten *cough* Ghost Staff *cough*.

Makes 0 sense.

Translation: Less work for developers + same amount of work for GFX artists.

^plus, even I would actually start buying holiday weapon skins... HECK NO I don't want a lousy ".45" knock off Christmas gun that I'll throw away after 2 hours and go back to using my .45, BUT I'D LITERALLY USE A CHRISTMAS .45 WEAPON SKIN LIKE A MOFO, ALL YEAR BABY!!!... and guys, I think everyone would agree with me here.

This allows the developers to really focus on the game mechanics- get it correct ONE TIME, and move on from there... because I play the game. I feel such a strong validity in the .45, the Sovereign Bow, the Carcano Rifle, the Boomerang, Staffs... all very core, very valid gameplay flavors. Less is more.

Ask yourselves this:

Would you not do Events for a totally hot rare toy?

Would you not earn GP for a totally hot Rainbow gif Carcano Rifle skin?

*sigh again lol...

I have many more ideas about how to actually fix this game (instead of Band-Aiding it to death) and promote a healthy system for developers and players alike. And many ideas more, I'm positive, that I can conceive if I just took the time.

I want to see your thoughts as well. I apologize for the length of this article, but I am a writer (sorry kids, I'm not actually a Pink Bear irl lol)- it's what I do.

^ I've been hated on for being myself in this respect, so unless you read the entirety of my words, please, don't waste the 60 seconds replying to me with a "Pfft", " Zzz", or "Too long to read".

I'll post this reply as a separate article, because I feel it's valid enough, aside from just being a reply post. I genuinely want to stir up some talk over this game. The elements are there, it just needs some love.

And lastly, I apologize if a bit of my frustration showed through- I refuse to edit my thoughts, because nothing drastic can happen unless we have a little red flag-waving going on here.

I respect that, Clown... but the same goes for even MY kids in 5uicide 5quad. Pisses me off dealing with the kids going HAM on shotties. Pisses me off dealing with these kids with GP bows. The whole game just pisses me off. Nobody has enough balls to play it straight.

I've seen enough spaghetti western flicks to know. John Wayne is the bee's knees... Two men in the street. Two guns. That's it. "Ol' West" doesn't even come close to being true to its theme. It's just a shoddy Era knock off, and will remain so until these 16yr old anime fan boys grow up.

America. 1800's. Revolvers. Rifles. Double-barrel shotguns. Not this semi-auto garbage. ONE shot. Reload. You snooze, you lose. Who the heck even runs this game? A foreigner's take on American history? It's a joke.

This is a good idea.
And as other people have said:
- Old Gp for old Gp Items
- New gp, which is harder to get etc, for better new items.

Tbh basing was fine without rotations quit tampering with it.
Soon no ones gonna do basing at all because I can guarantee more than half of the basers do it for gp. So fix it before ya kill it man.


Maybe put back the gp every minute, but make it so u get 2 gp every minute if u have 2 basers. 3 for 3 bases ect.

You're right- it used to be, before these kids got 'blow-you-head-off' weapons for doing NOTHING but sucking up to the monopoly gangs, and sucking down GP like maple syrup lol. The whole thing was just bad bad mojo, man. Big gangs got free nab help. Nabs got big guns for free. This promoted the creation of NO new gangs... I remember when West always had a flurry of new gangs- sure, we always had top-dogs, but Bank used to be the spawning ground of the next big thing. Hopefully this new update turns out (It's already x20 less boring actually seeing Circus on the map again).

I'm genuinely liking this update so far though. Maybe when kids realize (if GP seriously means THIS much to them) that when you can get GP on either side of the team, this will promote more diversion, and new blood in the basing realm.

Personally, give me a Doorknocker, and I'm done. Because I'm still adamant about my core gun idea. This game wouldn't be half as bad if everyone stopped relying on shotguns, picked up a .45, and took a few trips to the spar house.

^ this is me playing Gears of War- 60 days- started as a noob, came out a half-decent player. Everyone has the same weapon set in this game. Pure skill... because this is my mentality: OP weapons are just a handicap for weak players.

My point is that multi-million dollar commercial shooter games have this basic premise. Thought it would work well in West too.

The .45 is lazy as hell. I hate it. I was, more or less, using it as a reference to all core guns, because it's no secret that the .45 is the commercial face weapon of West.

I'll push as far as you want, because I despise "ease of use". Keep throwing "salt" back at me, but I don't see you producing any solutions. It's a good thing to talk, but nothing gets achieved unless you produce when you detract.

Any weapon in West that allows you to hold the trigger and spam should be banned, in my opinion too. Let's just go ball-out now, if you wanna throw the kid-gloves down.

I've been using the Viper lately, and I feel much less bored- much more attentive to the game because I actually have to manually pull the shots instead of hold the trigger like a zombie.

And to be honest, I'm not sure how many of you have tried, but you can spam even harder with the Viper than the .45- it takes focus, and my rhythm locks up if I become too flustered in a base... but this hardship alone has livened the game up a bit for me. I think the .45 should be banned along with AGAIN: All GP/HS weapons, and shotguns.

^ In all fairness, the Colt and Remington were legendary guns of the American West. Sad that we can't simply have use for a 6-shooter in a Western-themed game. I'm all up for having shotguns too- but realistically- with 1-2 shots, high freeze, and reload... much like the (very beautifully made, if I may) Carcano Rifle. High risk. High payoff. A useful element in particular situations, but not all. Flavor- not ultimatum.

And this is just the gun side of it. As I've said, I have ideas. We can fix this game. But after seeing the reaction, I think everyone is actually better off just spamming doorways with a GP bow...

^ and I say again, it's only a matter of time until every single player in the game is going to be spamming each other with GP bows.

If you think Ol' West sucks Whippy, then go play Red Dead Redemption for god's sake. Literally the easiest ****ing answer in the book. It's got cowboys, balanced guns, dynamite, AND a ****ton of story missions and side quests to rub all over on your face.

Love the new basing system its great also gp system is greater. Do a daily hat in gp shop every week or two to scam noobs gp yw staff team. That could also be a thing for hs.

I had an admin PM me through West, and say that he very much liked my thoughts. He said that if I had any more, to contact him... I do... but it's not worth it. You all are just not worth it.

So, original plan!

^ I'm gone after SS hits the 1.5k - when SS hits the 1.5k - see, this may surprise you, but most of our people are a bit older. College, married, job, two jobs... can't afford to play all day- a bit surprising considering our peace arrangements? Or rather NOT surprising, considering our peace arrangements, that we're older?

^ At the end of the day, you can go hate on Harley again for all of this. I 100% quit West in January. Emailed her, cordially learned of the new 3-base hardship. I came back, but only stayed for I also learned that she had a big family issue to pop up, and needed help finishing this game because she didn't want to let these kids, who followed her for this long, down.

^So again, thank her that I'm even sitting here writing this... Want me gone? Want your SS whipping post gone? SS 1.5k and it all goes away, my friends. So many of these kids- my kids- my SS kids, now- are so fed up with this community. If you hate us this badly, there is only one way to get rid of us... although you'll have to step in line, behind Tox... he seems to be the leading salt block right now, and we haven't done a single thing to the kid.

^ And remember, I only joined these people because I had two options: 1. Join a gang that was basing - 2. Join a gang that was sitting AFK, peaced with everyone.
