That feeling when you're a bad manager because your new furniture shop is just a collection of old NPCs from 2012-2015.

http://i.imgur.com/6IzTUuo.png

Seriously, who was in charge of this? I'm pretty sure I know who...

Don't forget, the level was also made by someone who hasn't worked there in MONTHS.

Graaklik 07-26-2017 04:34 AM

I'm wondering who tf made that ugly red rug

*Colin 07-26-2017 04:51 AM

I can imagine the thougt process was like: "Let's place random boxes everywhere to make it look like we made more content than we actually did!"

Congrats management, this might be the worst release Zone has ever done. Ever.

Graaklik 07-26-2017 05:19 AM

Funny thing is, I was at IKEA yesterday.

Does it count as an update if it was already on the server

I'd point out what could use improvement but that's basically everything on that screenshot

Where is the furniture? And while we are on this topic what happened to iZone? I haven't played in a while since Tashkin was manager and I personally thought things were fine.

Tash left, Alex became manager for a little bit and got removed because there were no major updates/miraculous surge in zone players a month after he took over (if that makes sense), then Stephane gave Zone's management away to the manager of Delteria in hopes of improving Zone. However, Delteria's manager (can't remember his name and honestly I'm glad) didn't want to waste his time managing Zone so he delegated the manager position to Chelterrar who at the time was the leader of the levels department (now managing a completely different server than the one he worked on and played on. Then Chelterrar had some major serious issues that got him fired, and then Delteria's manager delegated the manager position to Blackfires who at the time was an events admin if I remember correctly. That's right. He hosted events. Now managing a server he hadn't worked for or played on. That brings us to today.

TL;DR: "The man" done ****ed it up

Truly hard to find someone dedicated enough to take on the position of manager in these games. You can only have so much luck with volunteers and that luck seems to be drying out for Stephane. We all see firsthand the lack of meaningful content coming out Graal games right now and I think a large part of that is there is no incentive for volunteers to get on and work their asses off developing a game so one man can benefit. If Stephane wants to maximize Graal's potential it's time to start paying people to develop this game full time.

I agree. GPs can be volunteers but development of the games needs to be by paid employees, otherwise things - especially on Zone - will stay broken and hideous. That said, I don't see Stephane ever fully committing to paid developers especially when he has volunteers still putting out work, even if it's half-assed work.

When the person overseeing all of this doesn't want to pay someone to maximize the game's potential it just screams "no passion" and if there is no passion put into something like this you will never go forward and it's obvious being stagnant (in terms of meaningful content) is not working. Graal would attract hundreds if not thousands of more players if development was an around the clock job not just something a few people do on a whim. At the same time it's probably hard to find quality developers even if you pay them.

Shmegg and I offered to help out and worked there for a few months, but working with Blackfires is unbearable. He is hard to find a lot of the time, he spends most of his time on Era or Delt STILL. On top of that, he wouldn't trust us to work on projects without his supervision and wanted to micromanage many things.

In the meantime while we were there, we did manage to launch a new events house system. I guess the man does really only care about events.

Well I've given iZone a lot of playing time in the past and I do have to say it's upsetting that it's turned out this way. It seemed to have a direction under Tashkin and since he's left everything is kind of out of wack.

You can thank Blackfires for that.

Which means he's making near 100% profits

He's definitely adhering to the "if it ain't broke then don't fix it" train of thought. In my opinion it's upsetting but I suppose anyone in that position wouldn't want to share the wealth with anyone else. Kind of sucks though, I think Graal is extremely unique and if it had the right support and backing could probably be one of the most popular games on the App Store.

Thread is tl;dr but the gfx is trash. If anyone even made it or they just reused old stuff
