Automated Events?

i got into an event today and the server message that was sent had a clear and simple understanding of joining the queue, and there was no admin hosting in the event
can someone explain this?

Saw about half a dozen of these go off. Every time hit the button and it told me "The event has already expired" or whatever. Ah well.

Assuming this was a test, It would be nice for the event to be held, then 3 minutes after the automated event ended another one would be hosted and this would keep going.

I guess.

MisterFace 08-17-2017 02:19 AM

I feel like that would be too often, thats a rare hat given every 3 minutes (if it goes on without stopping, you probably mean for it to, but thats still alot of hats.)

HamStarr 08-17-2017 02:58 AM

Oh, Valve finally added a drop party system. Sweet!

Thallen 08-21-2017 09:31 PM

consider making a 100-hour minimum to get into automated queue events
I think it's pretty dumb that active players risk being shafted by the system so that randoms who may never even return to the game get in

Zetectic 08-21-2017 10:17 PM

what are they rewarding? a hat? a point for NGS would be cool tho. so we get more guilds like ET

Numbrero 08-24-2017 06:29 AM

Team Fort was such a nice event. I liked it a lot, too bad I've not seen it for sooo long. •.•

There was one yesterday

I hope you guys are not butt-hurt about this. It's better to have a machine do something for a 12 y/o if know what I'm saying here.

I think a machine posted this comment.

Garutias 10-10-2017 12:30 PM

I won one of those automated events yesterday and it was pretty decent in my opinion, it was a event called snowball fight were i believe it was a 5v5, we got automatically warped there and were set free in a set amount of time. My team won so we all got hats which was kind of satisfying. The event was kind of like team fort.

I kinda like these automated events as admins don't need to be on when events happen, bugs aside this was very convenient.

The fact though is a bottled event can be....rather....like a double edged sword. You can get events going which gives admins more time. But with no admin in the event. How can we be assured someone won't speed hack in that good of bush race? Or wall hack and run right to the finish line.

Ethacon 10-11-2017 09:40 PM

oh no no no no no, please why.

An automated snowball fight is being hosted and I clicked join and it was going make me spend 150 gralats.

Events shouldn't be p2p this isn't right.

Agonee 10-11-2017 10:48 PM

127 gralats for vips

i support the idea they have in mind, the pay to play method increases your chances of getting into the event. and overall there are bot events that go off almost every 20 minutes (this only happens during american morning times for some reason) so we should be thankful that we are even able to earn event hats without an admin actually having to be on.

150 isnt that bad bro...

Garutias 10-13-2017 09:10 PM

It’s kinda buggy when you enter these events. When I was at sumo I saw several people walk away from the spawning area before we were “released”.

if you don't get chosen it just gives the gralats back I've heard.

Raeven 10-14-2017 08:43 PM

I prefer 500g reward from bot events while admin hosted events reward a hat
