IM POOR (but need a computer)
so my pet pig broke my laptop keys and yeah so i need a new computer.
i would like a "gaming" pc capable of decently playing some games. lol on medium-high settings, etc. (my ****ty hp pavilion notebook could play league medium-low settings with 100 fps). im on a tight budget because im poor and need to start saving up and have a car & insurance payment every month. these are what ive looked at. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...75&ignorebbr=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...HFDQ04UN&psc=1 tell me if theyre trash and gimme suggestions please. I would like to stay between 300-700 dollars MAX, because like i cant even afford that rn. just tell me what to expect and what i should do. |
I'll be honest. I'd just wait a bit till you have a bit more money. It almost seems that you're looking for a laptop that has good Ghz from your description of wanting to play most games with medium to high settings.
If i was you, I'd wait a bit until you could afford this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...HFDQ04UN&psc=1 It has a bit faster Ghz at 3.4 while other had 3.2 GHz, and from looks of it, It is a fairly decent gaming pc from what it seems and from what it appears should give you the desired quality you want. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...75&ignorebbr=1 This one though, If you're feeling lucky and want to save. get it, But I would be very wary of it. while it does have only a slightly lower GHz, the main issue I saw from this from the get-go is it is a refurbished product... I used to work as refurbishing, fixing and working with computers. I will tell you honestly that most refurbished products just simply aren't as good, And may have a lot of issues. When an item gets refurbished they usually just replace the parts needed and make sure it works. Which means in that refurbished laptop or pc or anything you buy refurbished, The people replacing parts may just "let" a few bad parts slip by "accident" if you know what I mean... Though personally, I would like to remain with Razer products, i would try to save up the money so you know you could afford it.But you must have a PC screen and whatnot which i imagine you already know. |

At this point I just need a decently nice 'gaming' computer, pc or laptop, for around 500-800 max and can play games on medium-high settings, with as good as im gonna get specs.

For a GPU just get something like an Nvidia GTX760. They're probably less than $100. Will run GTAV in 1080p. If you're not sure, you need these things: -mobo -case -power supply -CPU -optional GPU -hard drive -RAM that's it. if you have any hard drives or power supplies lying around you might be able to save some money. you shouldn't need to buy a third party cpu cooler if you're going with a low cost cpu. also honestly i would just go without using an optical drive because they are basically obsolete at this point. just install windows using a usb drive |
building a pc isn't really something that interests me, especially since I've been finding I can finance some computers which would be a very realistic option for me.
I just found this laptop, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1 and would be able to finance it as well. The only thing is I have no idea if it's good or worth the price. |

Dell recently put out a new line of laptops packing the new hex-core processors. http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-...top/dncwgf427s These new processors are considerably more powerful but will set you back another 300 dollars. I personally would just save for the 1060 variation but if you really need a laptop that can pull its own weight and then some I would definitely recommend taking a look at this. The one you picked out is pretty good but only because its on sale TBH. |
That amazon deal is pretty good in my opinion. You are definitely paying a premium for the convenience factor that a laptop brings (even tho it will be heavy) but that thing should game well and stay relevant in terms of power for quite some time.
That being said, don't stretch your budget too much. That is one of the cheapest gaming laptops I've ever seen but it's still a lot to chew. |
Thanks for the advice everyone! I think the amazon one would be a good option for me, I could pay it off in 5 months for $160 payments a month w/o having to apply for a credit card or anything like that either which is super realistic

-- On another note, I just found an MSI GP63 on Newegg for $1499, maximizing my budget, but please give me feedback and comparisons and this laptop model as well! MSI GP Series GP63 Leopard-428 15.6" 120 Hz FHD GTX 1070 8GB VRAM i7-8750H 16 GB Memory 128 GB SSD 1TB HDD Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Gaming Laptop -- ONLY @ NEWEGG https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...00&ignorebbr=1 The model is usually $1699 and is on sale for $1499 for 4 more hours, though my loan doesnt deposit into my account until tomorrow so I wont be able to get the sale, if the sale is still somehow running, is this a good buy? The tax comes out to about $127, but they also gave me a special promo code for an additional $50 off so the total for this laptop would be $1576 |
Idk asus laptop seems like the kind of laptop u would want to buy and the product by asus sell pretty much to be in a reasonable price and I bought one around for 500$ no complications and pretty good quality through my experience I've bought a phone and 2 laptops from asus brand and NO COMPLICATIONS WITH THE LAPTOP BUT when u go to the phone brand there's a lot of problems with it well through my experience like touchscreen problem but that doesn't matter because ur trying to buy a laptop not a phone

The MSI you linked is fine, it's a high end machine.

$339 for 120GB SSD but $349 for 500GB SSD. No-brainer. Loads more gigs for few more dollaz.

ended up buying the
Dell - G7 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - 256GB Solid State Drive - Licorice Black for $979 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-g7...?skuId=6212436 was going to buy the $1099 one, but the only difference was the RAM and SSD. It had half the SSD and double the RAM, and i figured my SSD is much more important than the RAM size as I don't think I will use very many gb. If anything, I have 2 weeks to see how i like it! thanks for the comments |

They have virtually the same specs but are much slimmer. I also recommend anyone buying a laptop with a hex-core processor to undervolt the processor since these 6 core processors tend to run hot in these laptops. |

For comparison, my last computer hit 70-90 FPS on medium-low settings and would drop randomly even lower especially in bigger team fights. Not to mention just every aspect of the system is faster. Plus it ended up only being $1k rather than 1500 so I over-loaned and was already able to pay back 1/3 of the loan! Overall pretty happy about the purchase, any game recommendations etc would be appreciated since I finally have a system that can handle gaming. |
