Dreamteam gst?
 

This is up for discussion after every season with new teams forming and whatnot. Your "dreamteam" gst doesn't necessarily have to be the best 7 possible gsers, but the 7 gsers you'd most want on a team with you. (You don't have to put yourself on the team if you'd like to put 7 others teamed up together).
For me, my mixed gst team would be me, brandon, exalt, crono, david, 6jack9, and dannS.

i'd want to see a team of kite, renz, shinjin, raege, phural, roast malone, and terra do mixed. all pinoys except for terra but i feel like she belongs there.

i'd also be interested to see shadz, denny, abood, dues, kicko, fro and comyt team up for idev although that'll definitely never happen.

Any team of friends or non-weirdos who can have fun in a call, not get too serious, and still win consistently.

Can't ask for much more than that.

Well, it did get Cooper to create a wormhole after he gets sucked into a blackhole so that he can communicate with his daughter...so I'm sure placing GST wouldn't be an issue. :)

obviously there’s a lot of sage members why else would i recruit them besides them being great sparrers? peak prado = best pc ever imo from personal matchup experience, peak eddy = 2nd best idev although his peak didn’t last long (in guildsparring). there have been more consistently good players but i’m pulling from just these players’ peaks, for example, tae was god-level for maybe 2 gsts at most, but his performance at this time was something special.

honorable mentions excluding my own guild to make this more bearable: mixed abel, idev EP (at their peaks of course)

Can’t sub Kicko Sarah or Brett...

at all peaks, imo, yes, as someone who has had experience against/with all of these players at their best. just a personal opinion though based on what i see. like mikva may be a running meme to a lot of you but i have seen the guy absolutely stomp top mixed teams repeatedly in practice.

edit: supposedly brett was better before iclassic but i haven’t seen it so w/e. i can’t include players from pre-iclassic lol

No combination of idevices would beat this team imo. Not to mention that we went undefeated for 1 year of gsts

If there was a leaderboard for finals mvps and 10+ hit performances we probably dominate it

If we're talking current idevs, kicko-denny-luna-mex-shadz-cally-kayo rn would beat that team




imo a undefeatable mixed team would be the sith team but added in tykian and zideuric, would stomp virtually any team if we're being honest

kinda off topic and this is only relevant to the idevice side of the GST (because nothing can really change drastically in mixed), but i don't think most people realize that there's kind of a meta shift going on where for the first time in a long time delayers don't feel inherently stronger than everyone else for the GST

it doesn't have anything to do with delay or sparring though, it's the fact that everyone is using discord now and communication is the #1 most important thing in the tournament format, and if you're a delayer then there's a pretty good chance that english isn't your first language, you aren't fluent, or you don't speak it at all

2013-2014 was "push/make a wall" when people saw how strong it was for alumni mixed
2015-2016 was when full-delay teams came around and started using the timer every match
2017-now, the best teams are the ones that are communicating properly through voice on discord

so, right now i think a lot of delayers who have won GSTs (jack sparrow, pkun, sugar, mood) would not be very strong or do well in the current GST environment because they aren't able to communicate with the team in ways that others can, and as a result of that australians and western europeans are especially good (delay+can communicate properly) and non-delayers (people like kicko, mex, crime, noss, super, etc.) are capable of doing pretty well

Yea 2 of the people you mentioned failed to beat me in the finals with my entire team going negative except for me.

One of dens teammates was publicly exposing den for going 1:2 vs NC this gst, he’s a major weak link lol. Also who the **** is “kayo”

Sith is basically SLX and SLX has placed 2nd multiple times only to be defeated by ALumni (And even Northern sign) members. They won once cuz Alumni took pity over these SLX members (which they've tried to win the gst for 6+ years). Additionally, tykian is not someone you'd expect to place regularly.

Kayo is Blade from Bello GST

We're both trolls, but you're the only one who looks like an idiot here. Nimbus crew 2/7 7ives people this season so if we're discussing a theoretical finals matchup between these two teams, anyones performance vs this roster in a single gst doesn't count for much.

Also keep in mind the facts here (mex showed up day b4 gst this season, and both him and shadz had roxas as a teammate who suicides every time he gets hit.) As for denny, i watched the footage and the only full match that was available, he went 6-6 so its hard to believe he went 0-6 the match before.

There's no way youre telling me a team with kicko-denny-luna-mex-shadz-cally-kayo unrusted wouldn't win vs the actual 7ives team. I think honestly replacing cally for deus would improve the team as well. 7ives has won a lot of gsts but no ones unbeatable... no way you can actually tell me (without trolling) that 7ives (only missing sarah with kosiris as replacement) who lost to nimbus crew (has kicko, luna, mex, on that team already and then adding denny/shadz imrpoves it)

and roxas doesnt suicide after every hit, he abuses blink like me and rushes towards or behind the opponents wall to get free hits. its a risky style but when i do it properly i get massive hits and have won the gst doing it.

i think it also helps to have someone else doing it with u, which is why super and i had an easy time destroying everyone a couple gsts ago

@westbrick, you can’t, nor will you ever relate to going undefeated for a year straight and still care about winning lol.

Imo the only team that would have a chance against active 7ives is: Shiden, Noss, Kicko, Kouji, Fro, Yui, & Crime/Mex/NF. A mixture of people who can push and preserve health. Most dev teams are 5 people back peddling and this never works, you need offence as seen in these dev finals.

P sure only teams that Noss has been on have beat the Sarah+Abood duo

vis have beaten sarah+abood duo multiple times years ago with fro crime tom nell shiden being the most recent, other than that theyve only lost to rd i believe

the first alumni vs. VIS was sugar, junior, sarah, haze, mood - we didn't use abood because he was banned (but they used noss on dizon's account when he was banned lol gay)


might have been vs. sarah/abood sometime after that but i dunno what guild they were using

i think its been only 2 times then if abood was on ultraviolence

meta is crazy different now for idev for sure compared to what i played in, (US) was a dominant team that rushed in and disoriented the enemy, now you don’t see that in any team, instead it’s two vertical walls every match just waiting for the other to slip up, super weird for me to watch and idk if it’s the optimal point everyone has reached or it’s just a random phenomenon

Lol was doing the GST when I basically can’t see any of my bottom and right screen due to 2 huge black spots hiding what’s happening in there + unresponsive controls from time to time u might see me stopping for no reason. Pretty sure I lost most of the GST I’ve done outside France since I’ve been only very briefly in these countries with no idea about my delay, might as well wait till next GST (in France)
