Taking indefinite leave
 

Hey guys,

Due to IRL circumstances, I won't be doing anything with Classic iPhone for a while indefinitely. I can't readily dedicate solid time to Graal right now so it would be unfair to state otherwise.

If things get better, I may rejoin but for now: everything is in the air for me :(

Does classic have any more scripter left? Someone said fp4 dropped off too

Jazz was just hired as a scripter. And I believe fp4 is still scripting for iClassic.

Scripters are a dying breed on iclassic...

Hope your new job is going well Twinny. Too bad Stefan and Unixmad are too cheap to pay you, then you could just survive on a part time job, but at least this is better for your career I guess..

Good luck. We all hope that you will return soon enough. As Rexx said, it is a heavy loss for iClassic and the Graal community in general. You've certainly left your mark and you certainly won't be forgotten in any sort of a hurry.

He almost hired ZeroG, because he had the best application after he asked ZeroG to do a lot of things for him. In the end I'm not sure if the program was just used and ZeroG was used as well, or if he just randomly decided not to hire anyone after ZeroG did the best...

But I highly doubt there are many more NATs working on it.
Possibly Xor and Stefan work on the programming but maybe
not often.

It is popular among players on the iPhone servers to aim to gain a place on the GP, LAT and GAT, but scripting doesnt come easily to users and extra time is needed to understand the language concept. The community needs a guide to teach others how to script and to give them an understanding of where and how it is used. I have attached a few links/documents to help :]

There is also the document 'npcscripting' by Stefan but it exceeds Graalians.com upload limit. You can find it in the PC Graal folder..

Those are both GS1 tutorials. GS1 isn't used anymore, so don't spend time learning it. You need to learn GS2. If you are looking to learn, the NPC scripting section on the official Graal forums will help. Check the Advice thread links. That's how I started at least.

Alright we now need more scripters.

Si senor. But it's hard to script if you don't know all the commands. So it won't be easy finding scripters.

Scripting isn't all that hard. Know what you want and break it down into the basics :)

I'm actually taking a class next year called "Game Design" nothing really to do with designing.. But more to do with learning basic and complicated scripting languages, with this situation popping up I may be able to help at the end of next year. IDK :P

So random quick update (Yes it's a necromancy bump but I can do that :sarcastic:)

I don't see my sabbatical from Graal and everything Graal-related ending any time so at this point, It's fair to say it's over.

I'm not going to be around on Testbed so please don't ask me to add you there. If someone could remove any notices asking them to talk to me, that would be awesome. I doubt I'll pay it for another year so someone else may need to step up and take it over.

I'll keep this web host up indefinitely so nothing to worry about there.
