Account Transfers
 

Lately, there have been more than a few times when someone has tried to get an account transfer for an account that is not theirs.

This is not allowed and our staff will not do it.
It will lead to a ban.

It's the same as account theft.. So a year Ban could probably be applicable.

Lol. People actually try that...

not to mention that you will never ever get away with it. it's a stupid thing to try.

And if you do get away with it.. and get found out, all your items will go to the person you stole off :)

What if someone PMed an admin the wrong PC-ID and they banned him for it?

Ex. Player 1 wants to transfer to his iPad.
iPad: pc:1234567
iPhone: pc:9876543

He PMs the iPad's PC as pc:1234568

Would that count as "scamming an account" resulting in a ban?

Is it possible to transfer the Account of a broken iDevice, Eventhough no email was set?

I'd say most likely, not. I doubt that someone would just one number off of yours. It would most likely not come up as any player.
So, they would then probably ask if it was the correct one and then you'd say no, then give them your iPad's real PC ID.

I never got an account transfer from my iPod to my iPad when I got iPad because I didn't know how to but know I have 1500+ on iPad and 600+ on iPod and I have some guns from iPod account u can't get anymore can I like combine my accounts or not...

One more thing u guys might want to know both my idevices are jail broken :P

I'm sure they could look at the devices once on your IP address (if it's static). I don't know how else they would check if you don't have your PC-ID or email in your account.

how about you make a system of once you wana transfer, you must have same email and an email will be sended, Accepting it make the account transfer automatically...
or make a system to do that either way

It's harden than you think. The way account transfers work is admins go into RC and pull up the players profile and transfer it (I think). I don't know how the would script some PHP or ASP to make this work.

it is possible... but really hard to script, almost same as the Personal Uploads system...
But this one doesnt need supervision if they send an email and used local same IP...

Then we'd just get kids scamming e-mail passwords and doing the transfer themselves x.x

Eg, I got 1 shipka on PC:1234567
And I have another shipka on PC:7654321

When I get an acc transfers wouldn't I be having 2shipkas? We need to created a gun give system that only users in the SAME IP AND GC(to ensure no one gets scammed or hacked) could be able to send their guns or melees like FB poke.

Well, I asked for that kind of an account transfer once. It was my brothers old account (from a broken device). We live(d) and played in the same house, so we must have the same IP-address.
Reno checked and said that nothing matches though and warned me for "trying to steal an account". Since I don't really know much about IP-address stuff I was wondering why nothing matched. Could it be because I changed the Internet provider?

Good idea :D but I'm pretty sure I said : you need to be on same local IP...

Local IP wont do anything to help, just sayin'
It'd never work to do this automated unless we use account systems, in which people will STILL give away their passwords for the chance of good items I bet.

It's called a link system, not account transfer...

I don't know if Stefan is looking into the use of account systems or not; I know its not something we as Era Staff are able to make a decision on ourselves. So go write complaints to Stefan if you want such a thing to happen.

Your understand of Stefan is wrong; he's actually quite a nice guy and WILL listen if enough complain heh..

This is correct, he takes an interest in matters on RC.
There was talk about changing from the UDID system to something else, Stefan mentioned in passing one time, but he didn't really explain anything other than they were considering different ideas.

But he enjoys getting all the money from gralat packs... And making the prices really high.

You don't HAVE to buy said gralat packs, just like you don't have to buy any of the special items in any other game.

Funds go towards paying employees, server upkeep and repairs, rent and rates etc etc and the fee to apple probably.

I was wondering. For an account transfer you need to have same flag/Wifi IP/gamecenter etc... But if i lose one account how can i prove we had same wifi ID and stuff?

Usually there are ways of us telling from experience if the account is really yours and such.
Being consistent with your identity is usually a good way.
