Here's a sneak peek. Looks like Stefan will be listening to us for once. Wonder if he will add it to era..

And yes this is real. No idea how it will work, or the limits of it.

Castør 05-06-2012 04:48 AM

We could really use this on era. Most players have a ton of things they'd love to get rid of/trade but are unable to. Then we're all shunned by the proposed theory of what may become of the economy.

The Doctor 05-06-2012 04:50 AM

Yes, yes, yes yes yes!!!!!

or lack thereof. Sorry, but set stores that are unaffected and no way to sell back or make your own? That's not a economy.

The Doctor 05-06-2012 04:52 AM

In real life you can trade stuff. How does that ruin our economy? Someone buys a 1,000 lamp and sells it for $500 doesn't ruin it.

zhar Ethereal 05-06-2012 04:52 AM

About time... I've been scammed on era very much. I lost rabbit sword, clover, dagger, stuffed rabbit, and other rares I can't really remember. I hope the people who have my stuff die.

The Doctor 05-06-2012 04:54 AM

I give away my stuff. No one scams me :)

Ace 05-06-2012 05:03 AM

Yep. Stefan got a way better feeling for such stuff and would never add such a low alpha to windows.

Makes sense, when scripting something it's best to make sure things work before making the interface all cool looking.

That is in a supply-and-demand economy with a finite amount of currency circulating. In an economy such as Era's with an unlimited amount of currency and supply, prices are static. With a trade system, the players will be able to capitalize and trade within themselves individually. When this happens, players that have no need of guns anymore (take the BAR for example), they will attempt to sell it for a fraction of the price, possibly 150k. When more and more trades like this happen, players will boycott buying from the shops, and start buying from the players that buy/resell BARs. Soon enough, the actual street price will be more like 140k-160k, or even lower, as opposed to the set 200k. When that happens, in-game stores will become useless. If you want to stabilize the economy while keeping a trade system intact, you will need to limit the supply of BARs that can be bought and circulated. This is another problem, as this leads to item hoarding.

Van Canavi 05-06-2012 07:13 PM

gimme your moneys>:0

Skill 05-06-2012 07:37 PM

it can't be compared to real life because money comes out of nowhere(jobs) and leaves into nowhere(shops)

Except to get more bars you need to buy them from the store and you can't trade for money in pretty sure.

I would say it can be compared to real life money entirely, credit cards are almost entirely digital...

Where'd you get the picture?

  • Various google images
  • snipping up images in Paint.NET
  • clumping them together to make a slightly believeable "trade" window.

Nice try Higbey, you're getting better ^_^

Or you can look at sketches Facebook where he posted this as the layout of the trade system Stefan is making. He said he is doing the graphics. This is just the layout to show what everything will be like

Except you still get money and the money still goes somewhere, the credit is worth real money, they can store and get real money out of it even if it's not physically money like checks.

The idea he is saying that there is infinite supply of money, the job givers have infinite money. Stores can receive money and it doesnt go anywhere except occasionally goes to the owners of the areas base.

The materials you obtain for selling such as flowers and shells do not get stored anywhere. There is no limit of these resources.

Thus there is no economy. The government in the game doesn't need money to run, no taxes, no nothing.

The Doctor 05-08-2012 02:05 AM

I don't know if I can believe higbey...

Higbey 05-08-2012 02:19 AM

You don't need to believe me. Believe sketch. It's on his facebook page he is making it not me. He took this pic.

There is no trade system in development for iClassic. The pictures that a user has been posting on facebook are fake.

iStorm 05-08-2012 03:40 PM

Add something like this to Classic to trade hats?

-__- you killed any credibility you might've built up after you started posting productive and agreeable posts along with your usual rants and outbursts.
That or Furry is just trying to keep the trading lowkey status haha.

RoboGuy 05-08-2012 06:51 PM

Hmmm...that trade system lacks quality in my opinion. Maybe thats just the picture, who knows!

Sketch: The trade system that I have made is a fake, it was never in development I had done this for a concept idea. Sorry to those who thought differently.

Beautiful Smoke 05-08-2012 11:20 PM

and everyone was getting excited for a trading system :// ! i hope in the future one becomes made !

Talon 05-08-2012 11:23 PM

He deleted the post. Anyhow, I don't really think iClassic would benefit from a trade system, people would start collecting guild hats, old/rare items, staff-given hats, etc.
