Trust issues with staff

1 Attachment(s)
Here's the thing, closing threads, not discussing problems, not telling players stuff, keeping secrets from us, it makes it hard to trust staff. If you want us to believe and trust you and not think there's something going on that's too high for us, we will react and not listen or trust or be friendly with you.

You aren't higher or better than anyone, we all know it, and we deserve to know what is going on. You are just players like us, so if you want to avoid problems you should stop trying to keep stuff from us.

To those that say it doesn't happen, I just found another example of it today.

The Doctor 05-14-2012 12:04 AM

Well... I haven't ever seen a staff member abusing powers.

It's not that. It's the way how suddenly we aren't good enough to be told about these things. It's all "being taken care of" or "not being discussed"

Really, we are all just players. There is nothing that gives them the right to treat us this way. Sure keep updates a secret to prevent spoiling, but this is just insulting.

Just sounds like nosiness to me.

Rezon 05-14-2012 12:52 AM

Every game company does this.

You don't discuss bans, you don't discuss anything that is cancelled for ___ reason, unless it deserves to be.

1/10 again.

Ace 05-14-2012 12:52 AM

I agree. Your not better than us admians! :( *sobs*

My bad, I wasn't aware that this thread contained problems to be discussed, things to tell players, and secrets to share. I thought it was just a terrible attempt at starting a thread whereby you were trying to be funny through some terrible graphics, and didn't really want anything said about it other than how amusing you are. Well darn.

If everyone murders their second born son, does that make it right? They are players. We deserve to be able to discuss and know the truth. I had a urge to make a post like this the first time Twinny censored all mention of graal reborn so no one could find out about it.

I've been on servers, I've had rights too, I've been told things. If you say it on rc, plan to have it heard. Because we hear everything. We are all players. Trying to keep secrets is fruitless. We hear things we shouldn't hear. We have friends that tell us what some secretive information misers try to keep hidden. You don't want rumors? You don't want people to stop trusting you? You tell us what we all deserve to know as equals. If you don't believe in us being equals, you'll have a lot of problems. Let me promise you that. If I find out you are trying to hide something from players, I'll have friends find it out, and as soon as I get it, it's going on here for everyone to hear. As equals. As how it should be.

Pardon me for sharing content with the community. Everything I post is open for discussion unless noted otherwise. No need to dump your hormones all over my threads <3

Higbey, Pix would be here all day if he had to explain bans and punishment to everybody. Really, 20 people being gagged isn't that big of a deal; it's only five minutes. I don't really understand what you're doing posting this here... What you gotta understand is that staff just don't have time to explain it to everybody. They do their job. The people who were gagged surely know why they were gagged. It isn't important for the peanut gallery to know.

Higbey 05-14-2012 01:26 AM

Information wants to be free.

A discussion where you hear what you want to hear about your work is better accomplished by talking to yourself than trying to talk to others.

So many little quips that fit this situation perfectly.

I don't see why you're posting here demanding an answer. Does it affect you? No. Is anybody else so lingering on it? Probably not. If they are, then they're in the same boat as you: they need to realize that staff simply don't have time to explain everybody's ban and jailing to those who it doesn't affect. Like I said, those who were gagged know why they were gagged, and nobody else really needs to know. Why should Pix spend his time explaining it to people that it has little to no impact on when he could be developing? If he stopped and told everybody each time he gagged somebody, well, that's just not possible.

Twinny 05-14-2012 01:29 AM

Why do you deserve it? Is their a related right or privilege to this?

By affiliating ourselves in anyway with them, the forums would become completely alienated from Eurocenter which isn't a great thing.

I don't see the need to support a group of hackers (especially when quite a few of them have launched attacks against members of the graal community).

It's not just that case. It's the fact how he said it. It's not going to take him half a hour to just say what happened.

We aren't the peanut gallery. We are equals. We also have to do with this stuff, we play the game too, surely none of the staff are stuck up enough to believe that having rights on a server makes them better than us?

Rezon 05-14-2012 01:34 AM

Higbey, post your IP address here please.

huehue.

Rufus 05-14-2012 01:34 AM

Higbey, you really need to drop the stupid 'WE ARE THE WORLD, WE ARE THE CHILDREN' attitude that you're spreading everywhere. It's essentially an attempt at making everyone look like victims and trying to get people to buy into it. It'd make for a great charity play, but newsflash! Players don't actually care for this stuff because all you're really doing is blowing up minor things. I don't believe people are as ignorant as you think they are.

Here are some fun things for you all to know before I end this thread:

  • We all want to read interesting threads and posts, that's the whole point of having a forum! Try to keep this in mind when posting, so you avoid posting spammy, useless or irrelevant things.

  • Remember that this is a fan forum, so whining about your in-game conflicts with staff and discussing bans is not appropriate here either. Such concerns should be forwarded to the people who can deal with them at [email protected] or [email protected] respectively.

These rules have existed since the day that I opened up the forums. They've existed since before any of you signed up to the forums, and you are told to read them when you do sign up. The moderation staff are told to enforce these rules, and they are going to be enforced whether you like it or not. There are still other platforms for you to discuss Graal if you dislike how things are here. Though, I'm really not convinced that anyone wants to read things like this anywhere.
