There are about a million Sherlock Holmes movies and TV series that have been made, so I want to ask, who is your favorite Sherlock Holmes actor? I'm going to include as many as I can, if your favorite isn't there, reply with it as a post. My personal favorite is Robert Downey Jr. But RDJ can make any role better in my opinion.

actually several of those actors are in movies/series done by BBC or some other English/British studio and never officially released for audiences in the U.S.

I guess my comment was a bit too broad for what I meant.
The Robert Downey version of Sherlock Holmes is the only one that has ever got that much hype, marketing and mainstream success of any Sherlock Holmes from Hollywood before. Which is why I made my comment, honestly who else would recognize those names up there unless you're a diehard Sherlock Holmes fan.

A lot of them are more popular, they're just older. Some of us are die hard Sherlock Holmes fans.

I've seen the other 'editions' of Sherlock Holmes. And they just don't give the same character to him Robert Downey Jr. does. Stereotypical 1800's gentlemen are really boring.

Benedict Cumberbatch is my favorite hands down. If you guys haven't seen the BBC series Sherlock, its amazing. Ive watched the first two seasons twice, lol. Hes a much more flawed character, he borders on insanity and doesn't have any social abilities outside of solving crimes, and sometimes he almost appears to cause the crimes because of it. Watson is also really good in this, hes a war veteran that has expertise in medicine and complements Sherlock perfectly. Its really interesting and the cases are much more well thought out than the movies. They have 3 episode seasons that are basically mini movies. Y'all should check it out.
