Actually, Mark Foster from FtP said its just coincidental that it relates to the Westroads mall shooting, and that he was fabricating a story about how the brain of an emotionally troubled teenager would work to raise awareness about troubled teenagers.

Ah, well who knows. Some artists lie - but maybe. It's still disturbing.

I rage a little when I say I like FtP and the only song anyone knows is Pumped up Kicks.

A Hipster is someone who doesn't like/take part in things that are 'mainstream' or 'popular'.

But seriously, i think it speaks of independence... The way he has the cigarette in his mouth... And the six shooter gun in his pocket... It means that he fights for his own reasons

What does this mean to me? Behind the meaning of this song, the Westroads Mall, this means to me that you should not Kill yourself and/or a bunch of other people. Nothing in life is worth killing anyone/yourself. Do not commit suicide.
