Graal Data Usage.
I don't actually know how much data graal actually uses, and since I'm going to be traveling alot I'd like to know how many MB per hour Graal uses. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can find out from a cydia app

Cydia app? Isn't that like jailbroken?

To be honest it probably won't be cheap. I wonder if thats why some players don't play Graal on the go. Even if they have a data plan.

SSH?

graal uses up 700MB of memory on your device/memory card or whatever.
as for MB/hr of a data plan it uses? i dont know i use ipod. but my friend who plays on iphone says it saps up his data plan pretty quick and when he didnt realize that, the ended up paying $100+ phone bill for going over that limit |
You can check your data usage on your iPhone in Settings / General / Usage. Write down how much you've used before playing Graal then check it after to determine how much you've used.
Due to all the custom/personal graphics if you like to idle the main graal area, you'll probably average around 1 MB/min (60 MB/hour). If you want to minimize your data usage, avoid heavily populated areas. |

Using the task manager on pc I can confirm that it uses about 1-2kbps, or 100kb per minute/ 6mb per hour. Varies on if you're in a crowded area.

I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just trying to understand. |

And I believe you download graphics upon first seeing them so you're bound to see new graphics in Graal city |
smh, people actually buy unlimited data plans to play Graal.

So, what I heard is that it will take 60MB per hour at max in a heavy populated area such as Graal city. So if I average it out, it takes about 33 and a half hours of online time to use up 2GB. Thanks for all those who helped!

The main thing that takes up data allowance from Graal is downloading the custom graphics (heads, bodies) from the players that appear on your screen. Every time you encounter a graphic file for the first time, that file is downloaded and stored in Graal's cache for quick loading the next time it is encountered.
If you have played Graal a lot on your device without deleting and reinstalling the app (because reinstalling resets the cache), then you will probably have a lot of the graphics cached, so playing Graal on 3G will not consume a lot of data. The game does download data about player positions and actions, but this is actually very small and won't affect your data allowance significantly. If you have iOS 5 or above, you can check how much data has been cached by Graal by going into Settings > General > Usage > GraalOnline Classic. The "Documents & Data" section shows the cache size. A larger cache here would mean more graphics already downloaded (hopefully you did this over Wi-Fi), and hence less will be downloaded when you use 3G. Another way to check usage is to open Settings > General > Usage > Mobile Data (or "Cellular Data", depending on your device's language region settings) and see how much data was downloaded before playing Graal on 3G, and then compare that number with after playing Graal. |
I played Graal for several hours using my mom's tethered Verizon iPhone. The data usage was listed down to the 100th of a megabyte. After finishing playing, there was no difference in the data usage number.
In other words, barely any data will be used. |
