Lucid Dreams

So yeah I was wondering if you guys had ever had a "lucid dream" where ou could control things inside your dream. If you have, lets discuss them!

One time I had a lucid dream when I was 4 and I loved pokemon and I was a pokemong and could go anywhere and do anything I want (Noobish IKR)

Now you post yours!

A luciddream is a kind of dream you can control. A dream is something that your head imagines but in a lucid dream you can command it

Ive done all the strategies and tips to have one but I have never had one in my life. Most of the time I dont ever remember my dreams anyways (Last one I remember was like 2 months ago vaguely) so whatever lol.

Likewise.

People who tend to play a lot of games (too many), tend to have more control over their dreams or having flying dreams more often. Mind you, in a lucid dream your subconscious and your idea of 'how things work' tend to work against you a bit.

As such I can fly/levitate in Lucid dreams very often, but doesn't mean its not without a challenge (ie: falling, limited durations, requiring to do something specific to initiate it). Phobias can also screw around in lucid dreams (or dreaming in general)

Acrophobia; when I encounter something like a narrow pathway with no railings (or gaps) that is well suspended off of the ground. It becomes extremely difficult to walk no matter how easy it should be, I end up being forced to crawl instead, as if the gravity was cranked up or my legs failed me.

Talon 06-30-2012 08:18 PM

Acrophobia - sounds like something I would have. Can you give a real life example of a narrow pathway that would induce the phobia? I think this might have happened to me.

MementoJoker 06-30-2012 08:44 PM

I tried lucid dreaming once and fell into sleep paralysis.
Worst night I ever had.
It felt so real and I didn't know I was dreaming. :/

They just come to meh

I had a lucid dream in which my parents were murdered. I woke up within the dream, establishing the fact that it actually happened. Then I woke up to reality. Scariest night of my life.

Kiwi 06-30-2012 09:55 PM

My most recent one, I thought I never moved to Australia, and was half way through the school year back home. It was extremely unusual, I really liked it anyway. When I woke up, I was so convinced that I should of been in New Zealand, and so confused I had a minor panic attack.

Then I realized it was just a dream, and I hadn't teleported.

I also had one when my Father died, and then I got Leukaemia :(

123tepig 06-30-2012 09:56 PM

One time I don't know what happened it isn't a lucid dream or a dream at all, more like a vision. One day I was just standing thinking about stuff and all of a sudden my eyes blinked and I could see the whole World with my eyes. A second later I blinked and came back to my ordinary view.

Scared the crud outta me.

Generally lucid dreams are when you know you ARE dreaming. If you thought the events of your dream were actually happening and they were influencing you, its a normal dream.

Talon 07-01-2012 12:27 AM

Oops. Not sure why I stated it was a lucid dream - maybe because every post contained the word 'lucid' multiple times. My mistake.

123tepig 07-01-2012 12:29 AM

A lucid dream is a dream which in you enter the dreaming state yet you realize it. You can control most of the things that you want to control within also. But there is always a problem in a lucid dream tha makes you angry and then you forgot about it but if you do a reality check, you're back in control

Talon 07-01-2012 12:32 AM

I know, thanks.

Emera 07-01-2012 01:08 AM

Normal dreaming is fine for me, thanks. They can turn pretty nasty pretty quickly.

MrSimons 07-01-2012 01:51 AM

When I as younger I would have these a lot, I'd always et pissed when I woke up.

Blueh 07-01-2012 04:55 AM

I might've come close to having one of these. One night, I had woke up. This happened normally so I had some water then went to go back to sleep. But I couldn't sleep. Yet, I felt as if I was drifting off slowly.

My eyes were wide open yet I felt myself sleeping. I was fully aware of all of this while it was happening too. Sleep Paralysis, I had told myself. Slowly I felt as if I was losing control of my body. I couldn't feel myself from the waist down and could barely budge the waist up. It progressed and reached my chest. I started shaking what I could to free myself.

While all of this was happening, it felt like I was falling. Or rather, being dragged. Into an endless free fall without movement. I started hearing whispers (is that normal?). I was terrified. I began to shake my head even more violently yet it barely budged. Doing anything I could manage to free myself from this.

Eventually, I shook myself free. I was sweating. I haven't felt so terrified in such a long time. Yet, I've always wanted a lucid dream. Not that stupid sleep paralysis crap.

123tepig 07-02-2012 12:04 AM

That's creepy it's has the symptoms of a lucid dream yet it's a horrible uncontrolable nightmare.

Google it, it seems you just need to become aware you are dreaming though.

Talon 07-02-2012 04:46 AM

Google is your friend. Just be aware of the risks.

i have the opposite ium dreaming and somwthing happens i dont want to and im like ay noo lets try that again and i can never chnage it:( and then i wake up

Blueh 07-03-2012 08:17 PM

My dreams usually become close to lucid, then they end. Kinda hard to explain how that would work.

It's like a normal dream, you're following everything a long as usual or what seems usual in a dream. Except like in mine there's often a narrator. Whatever he says, goes. Eventually the narrator's script becomes too predictable. I know what's gonna happen in my dreams. When it starts to get predictable I realize that it's my voice narrating. That I'm in control of the story here.

But then I wake up.

MSM 07-03-2012 08:23 PM

In my friends dreams, there are commercial breaks. One time, he told me during his dream he was getting chased by a big monster that was destroying the city. All of a sudden, it said "We will be right back after the break!" Then it shows commercial breaks for useless items that aren't even real.

iSilver 07-03-2012 08:29 PM

i've never had one.
I never remember dreams.
I'll have a dream every 1.5 weeks or so.
it sucks.
