Sword Art Online (Anime)
 

Today I stumbled across Sword Art Online, an anime that is airing over the Summer. It has a pretty interesting concept to me, and considering this is an MMO-based forum, I thought you might be interested to follow it with me. I watched the first episode just now (if you plan on watching, don't watch the trailer as the first episode is basically just the trailer) and it seems like it could be a decent show. A lot of MMO references.

Nice! I'm not really a huge anime fan, but this looks amazing. Is it english dubbed? I'm not a fan of having to read subtitles the whole time.

Nope, it's airing in Japan right now so it won't be dubbed for at least another year. I think you'd get used to reaing subtitles after a while.

Regardless, it looks pretty interesting. I guess I'll just watch the first episode and see how I like it.

I watched the latest episode today. I hope they don't plan on cutting that girl out like they did with the first guy. She was in the opening so I hope they wouldn't do that. I also like his new black coat looks pretty cool.

I don't watch alot of TV/etc. But I like the concept... It has been done before but never really pulled off well.

That episode was pretty dark.

Yeah, by the end of it I was pretty sad. I don't like how they skipped the fight with the one boss and the dungeon area. I think they should slow it down a bit, but I still love it.

Accel World is pretty good.

Nothing can beat the dragon ball legacy.

Except for Soul Eater.

How is it not original? I haven't seen another anime that has this plot as well as anything else. It has it's flaws, but overall I think it's a great anime.

Good. It'd be ****ing terrible if they stole the plot from something. As far as the theme and concept, Accel World and RealPG which were in the bloody post you quoted are rather similar.
