GW2 Beta and Release
 

Who is playing this last upcoming beta in 40-something hours? Gonna play it with my Enguardian friendmate Ruxxter, probably will be Elementalist/Warrior duo. If it's nice, gonna pre-purchase.

Meh, I've been trying to get into a beta for months and they only let you in if you buy it >_>

So i'm assuming the game is probably trash since they want people to buy it and wont let them try it...

hmmmm? Pre Purchasing the game doesn't only give u beta acess it also gives u a good amount of in game items, and a 3day head start. Of course their dedicated fans would buy it and would be better testers than ones who just found out about it.
Also they give thousands and thousands of beta keys to their fan sites to give away.

Yeah, they don't give enough and you have to be fast as hell to get them.

very easy, i was able to get several to give to my friends. i really think that we should be thankful that they even have a open beta like this to begin with.

Closed beta*

It cant be a closed beta because the amount of players are not restricted. No certain amount/type of people were selected to participate. Anyone can get into the beta, just prepurchase the game, or snag a beta key.

open beta means that it is open to everyone and you just need to register to play. Closed beta means you need to do something to get in or get selected.

Nope, cant be closed because anyone can get in. Just because you have to do something doesnt make it closed. Because everyone have a equal chance to get into the beta. No one was selected. You dont need a invite

Meh, Guild Wars 2 suffers from auto targeting and wow-like automated combat. Once there is an mmo with an interesting universe AND actually decent combat, I will be interested.

There is no "automated" combat. You have to hit each key.

Thats automated in my opinion. If you can't aim and maneuver at your target like a third person shooter works, its basically automated combat that your character aims and operates for you. Skyrim has better combat than this (which is not a complement). I'm looking forward to WarZ, its basically like dayz but an MMO. It seems to not have very much of the standard MMO elements that every single MMO almost religiously sticks to.

The combat in gw2 is amazing the way it is. watching youtube videos wont do you no good.

GW2 combat is mote automated then Tera's, but after playing both games I wouldn't say its bad. It's very smooth and hits are meaty, when you play it the game doesn't feel automated. Also, don't compare it to WoW's boring combat.

If it feels like Ocarina of time's Z auto targeting, I might change my mind. I'm not going to put my 60$ of my money on it though considering there's no demo or anything yet. And all I can watch is youtube videos that make the combat appear automated and boringish.

What are you referring to by " interesting universe" you mean good lore and all that?

Raiderz is entering closed beta soon and its combat is amazing, I played in the alpha. You have to aim everything, there is no auto targeting. If you play a melee character it feels a lot like Monster Hunter.

Non-fantasy. Almost every MMO in existence has been LOTR type fantasy. SWOTR wasn't, but its combat didn't look interesting and we kinda already know its universe pretty well.

Anything different than LOTR type fantasy. The War Z looks really interesting, its like DayZ only an MMO. Its probably going to shake things up a bit.

250 players in a map? Weak, check out Planetside 2 if you want massive combat.

Thats an incredible amount of people for something like this. You don't seem to understand the point of this game at all and how it works since you're comparing it to, uhh.... planet side 2.... which is a completely different type of game, try DayZ, and then you might get it.
