New iEra Level :)

1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone!!! I made a new iEra level to show you all what I am capable of!! I thought about posting this in the creative section, but I felt since I'm really pushing to become a iEra LAT Admin that I'd post it here so all of the iEra players can judge on my level/levels!
Here are my two older levels:
http://www.graalians.com/forums/atta...2&d=1341709272

http://www.graalians.com/forums/atta...4&d=1341715845
and my newest one I attached. I also got a question!!! How can I get Era iPhone's tileset for my level editor?

BabyGhost 07-26-2012 10:34 PM

I'd love to see another house template added..

Emera 07-26-2012 10:36 PM

Man, that's actually pretty good.

SnakeRekon 07-26-2012 10:44 PM

Uses Era PC's tileset rather than ours :)
I made a house template but need to nag at snk to add it as of 6 months ago ~ Haha..

Not a bad job on the level overall. My critism would be to make the pavement go half way under the bush, rather than it being a whole pavement, it'll help with the illusion of the pavement being behind the bush.

Huh? You want me to update the house?? What would you like added? I thought about adding a second floor to it!

SnakeRekon 07-26-2012 10:46 PM

Think he means, a house to be used for player houses :) thus nothing needing to be added. (More so you'd remove the trees)

That makes sense! :D Thank you!

I heard if people like your work you have a good chance!! I hope I do! Creating levels is a ton of fun.

I made an inside level for my new outside level!!! Please give more suggestions or comments on it so I can improve!

Emera 07-26-2012 11:50 PM

Looks good, but that bare patch in the middle of the floor throws me off.

Not too shabby, glad to see you didn't over-use or under-use the npcs. You have some potential just keep practicing and I'm sure soon enough people will take notice.

MSM 07-26-2012 11:58 PM

Try not to always make your inside rooms square shaped.

Since when do squares have 12 sides?

I don't know how you could make them any different. As far as I know, you can't really make them as circles.

It was either making the level smaller, or leaving it that size and leaving some "room" to move inside the level :P.

The Ak47 doesn't really fit into the table. Maybe something else, like a handgun.

That looks pretty neat, but i think it would be better if you use the wall tiles by default, I saw you made them bigger than 3 x's which looks disturbing a bit.
I see you have a problem with the NPC placing, use this.x= and this.y= to place them correctly, you may also use the setimgpart to cut the image (like the bamboo rod icon) and make it fit thru the wall.
I see you also have problems with the placement of Details (like I have) - if you could train and add some smaller details your levels would look great in the future.
@your outside level, the bushes around the house aren't exactly needed, keep some bushes on the front - move your house to the middle to avoid blank space and try to add lots of details, sometimes a beach with water next to it or difference houses as an horizon would look great.

What MSM said "avoid using square shaped levels" by that I think he means to use move shaped angles in one.
I'll provide you the iEra Tileset when I can. Good Luck on being a LAT, I'd recommend you listening to Snake Rekon, he got me where I am now.

Jester Lapse 07-27-2012 07:42 AM

Why does te street lead to the front door? Are we suppose to crash our car through the house?

There isn't really any default wall tile height or any set height for that matter, houses can have big inside rooms than normal height, it's all part of the variety and mixture you have.

He doesn't really have a problem, he's just not aware that you're able to do those things, just as you were also not at first.

House in middle is lame, the blank space is fine, can easily be fixed with patches of dirt or sand and other outside images such a bench area or perhaps a car park / parking area. Centered houses don't always looks that great, it really does depend on what plan for the building and it's outside use, do you want a wide open space for running, shooting, placing furniture in, or do you just want a small walkable area that allows for very little detail just to cover space. It's all situation dependant really. I think his house placement is fine where it is at the moment, i'd probably add some flowers or dirt near the right hand side of the bush to clean up some of that straightness.

@ Jester, it's more of a driveway than a street, not all houses have garages afterall.

Jester Lapse 07-27-2012 10:04 AM

If you park at the front door how do you get in? Sorry just looks funky too me

What I mean by Default wall tile is the current wall given. He adjusted it to make it bigger which made him cut thru the wall.

Show me a house where the driveway goes straight to the door with a car in front of it, I'll give you a cookie if you do. Better be a good house too, not a ghetto one

Also the log things where you put the doorbell look weird because their stick out rather then mesh well with the wall
