Hiring Graphical Artists!
 

Hey guys, you may have noticed i've been fairly quiet as of late, and there's a reason to this.

To put it quite simply, i'm programming an MMO. Now I know that saying "I'm making an MMO" on the internet is one of the easiest ways to get flamed, as everyone assumes you're just a noob who can't program anything, but i'm serious about this.

Over the last few months i've been working on programming a server, client, and editor in java, and it's coming along really nicely. I've arrived at the stage where i need to seriously decide on in-game content before i continue programming features. Because of this, i've decided i need to recruit my first GFX staffmember.

I'm completely dedicated to this project, and plan to release an MMO to android, as well as all of the major operating systems, I don't have many very impressive screenshots to show currently because it's all code, or command line (in the case of the server). And that is why i need you.
Even though I don't have screenshots yet, i can assure you it works very well, with the tests i've been doing, and i'm really excited to get someone on board with me. Anyone who helps in this stage of the game is guaranteed payment when we make profits for this game.

So I ask, is anyone interested?

Just graphic artists? What about story writers, sound/music,programming, design,and other development?

I'm wanting to keep the team small for now. Reno and I are working in on the story currently, and emera has offered to help out with music/sfx. I might hire more developers in time, but currently i mainly need someone to design character sprites and tiles.

I would. I'd like to get Gimp back up and start making graphics more often (except for the fact that I have no idea what to make for fun right now). What type of graphics (style) would they be? (Sort of like Classic or Era? (meaning will it had an older-ish look or a modern day look))

The game i'm designing will be a medieval-set game, i don't want to give away too much yet, but the world will be largely based around magic.

I don't need bodies/guns. This isn't for iEra. let me make this clear, it is nothing related to graal.

If possible, could you please provide some examples of your work if you're interested guys?

I would right now, but I don my computer at the moment. Also, can it be any type of graphics we've made, or the type of style you mentioned?

Any, but preferably some in the style i mentioned if possible.

What is the about size for graphics? You mentioned it being on android and other Operating Systems. Which could mean it'll be on the computer which some people really like 'HD' graphics. There could be two different sizes of everything. One would be a smaller type one for Android/iOS(?) and a larger, more detailed version for the computer. I might think about buying a Graphics Tablet. It's a good tool to use for big graphics and such. But I would probably not use it really on something like that because I doubt it would be a super-sized character or other stuff on this thing. But it could be a nice tool to have.

The graphics will be the same size on all clients, like graal.

Tiles will be 16x16, although i'm undecided on the exact size for caracter sprites. I'll work that out with whoever is doing them i guess.

I think I'll try out, this would be a great opportunity for me to get better at graphics.

Sounds boring. Are you making new templates? Wow, it sounds like my dream graal client. Cool. Payment. Well, now I have to spend time on making something good?.. Alright.

2D or 3D

Considering 3/4 of the graalians know graphics as pixel art.. Definitely 2D.. Besides, blender is a ***** to learn.

I would help you, but I'm not that good of a graphics artist yet... I'm learning, but not good enough to work on a server I think :0. Nevertheless, if you need help I'd love to help :).

i make lots of level designs on unity i could level design i work better with that then classic tilesets.

is it going to be similar to iEra in the sence that it has small pixel bodies or fully featured 3D players? If it is a simple pixel oriented GFX system I guess I could help, but i would want to help with the story more.

how come when i try to hire artists with a full featured mmo engine with a bazillion features and screenshots/videos i get nada but this guy gets 3 pages of offers
