Define "wet"
–adjective

1. moistened, covered, or soaked with water or some other liquid: wet hands.

2. in a liquid form or state: wet paint.

Water is a liquid, therefore water is wet.

Water is wet, based on the definition of "wet".

HappyCat123 08-04-2012 02:53 PM

I don't really think so. I think an item is wet when water gets on it though.

2. in a liquid form or state: wet paint.

I think you would call an item wet when it is like paint or glue that has not dried yet. When it's water, it's not going to dry so I don't consider it wet.

On this question, 'wet' is a property that describes a liquid that can make anything damp, can we move on?

Water isn't wet, Something that cant dry cant be wet

Crono 08-06-2012 02:54 PM

The OP is using the word 'wet' as an adjective.

The definitions of the word as an adjective are as follows:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/wet

The first point clearly states "consisting of, containing, covered with, or soaked with liquid (as water)", therefore water is wet. Apparently anything "containing appreciable quantities of readily condensable hydrocarbons" is also considered wet.

spades of feare 08-06-2012 05:29 PM

Water wettens things so therfore it cannot be wet because it was always wet to begin with

Water doesn't feel wet if your in it, at the same time it does. I'm saying yes and no.
