Trade System
There are no plans for a trade system as of yet.
We allowed item dropping so you can gift to friends- nothing else. The only solution to all this is to stop dropping of all items (melee based etc) What're your views on this? |
Agreed.
It will prevent scams and stuff in a lot of ways. But there will be a lot of people complaining as well. |
I fine that there no trade system. Even if there was a trade system, there will still be scam.
Also I want to voice out that there should not be any dropping system. |
I belive you are 100% correct snk, greed is amazing in this game and it the player's fault they have lost their items.. Alot of people are overreacting..
My Logic: Get my own items and don't trade. And atm I am doing great :) |
I think it's resonable but still when you wanna trade you dont wanna risk getting scammed especialy if it was something like a katana(hypotheticly) you dont wanna get that scammed, but i always say never trust anyone even the ones close to you. Now not neccesserily say dont trust anyone but just make sure you've known them for a while and such
|
yah somewhat they learning a lesson
|
No matter how many others have said don't trade, people still drop and get scammed and complain. So this may be a main reason not to have a drop system anymore.
|
Please stop item dropping.
|
But I have many reasons why to have a drop system :(
|
I know it's awful and we are trying our best to fix this for everybody. As I said- we added it for gifting purposes- nothing more. We added drop notices and everything (makes Era look kinda crap with it too- but hey its there for a reason right)
Makes me feel better that you see our side of things- that's nice to hear. Thank you I think the first 5 posts should be what Graalians should be about ^^ |
take away dropping or make everything droppable
and don't jail me for stating my opinion kai? |

Me too, and pitforks.. etc

If nothing can be dropped, there will definitely be a decrease of
:cry "I was scammed! Donate plz!" in start park. But there will be an increase of identify scams imo. Because the scammers and such will think of that way of obtaining items. |
I disabled snow balls and water bombs in houses / gang houses if that helps anything ^^

No on the trading system. As Street once said, the owners of the game don't want a free economy in which other players can capitalize in certain assets, whether it be guns, melees, or currency. In an open market such as one created by a trading system, the demand for certain items is determined by the supply of the item (infinite, in our case). Prices are set by developers. If we allowed trading of items such as guns, prices will decline way below the original price set for the item. Why? Because when players find no more use for, say, a BAR, they will sell it for a lesser price to appeal to players and use the money to buy a new gun. Eventually the price players set tend to turn into an accepted status quo, which is indefinitely lower than store prices. When this happens, the players' money circulates only through players as opposed to Gralats disappearing when an item in a store is purchased. When money circulates through players, eventually the need for purchasing Gralat Packs is gone as players can just easily sell items to gain money.
This is an issue for any game developer with no outside revenue source. When players are constantly shelling for money, soon all of the money will STAY in circulation through the players, assuming items are bought at lower prices from other players (which any rational player will do). When this happens, TONS of money will be, and stay in the economy which ultimately defeats the purpose of buying packs. This means no revenue for the game owners. Our current system regulates this by forcing players to buy items in-store. Having money disappear when items are bought in-store lessens the amount of money circulating in the economy. When there is less money going around, players are more inclined to buy Gralat packs - that is where game owners make their profit. Quote:

I would rather have items droppable because I am smart enough not to be scammed D:

Oh last comment on this thread, because I honestly don't even like how era has turned out or it's community, I don't blame staff for there not being a trade system, that all is in Stephan's hands and he limits how much administrators can add on both era and classic. However, I do not agree with how people are handling things now-a-days. So don't blame staff for no trading system as I know most to all of them want one, blame good ol' Stephy.

I would just remove the drop system then. If it was just to give gifts to friends, then let's do this:
You must add a person to your friend list and they must be your friend for at 3 months or more to be able to gift eachother items. Instead of dropping there could be a button that says "gift" and you can type the name of the person to gift it too. |
Just stating my opinion on this.
As much I would love a trade system, it just wouldn't work. Rich players could buy out the economy and hold on to their rares to increase the value. Players with more money (in real life) would also have an unfair advantage buying massive amounts of gralats to purchase items to trade. If we added it, people would start to complain about having it and whine for it to be removed. It's happened twice on Era PC, and led to a server reset. Plus, Real World Trading would start to become an issue. It just wouldn't work in Graal. Maybe player hosted auctions or something would work better, but its probably just best to keep it as is or remove dropping as a whole. |

Revision: Invent a "at the same time" item swap system? |
player hosted auctions would be orgasmic
|
trade by mail in the game without scam ??
i own a bad idea Electronic gifts system If any one wants to give a gift to anyone Just send a gift electronically (u know the mail in era that it is not useful but should be useful now Send a gift on the way mail Or trade by mail in the game |
Currently the only way to have mailboxes is either houses or guild houses though. Players could get a free messenger bag or mailbox inside there inventory?
|
Trading by mailboxes
|
Allowing players to host there own auctions and remove item dropping would be a great way to go. You wouldn't have to worry about scammers and players have been wanting to host auctions. You'd kill two birds with one stone.

All you've done now is enabled trading without the safety of it... So while trading exists, it isn't safe for players. So I don't really understand how this helps anybody. If Stefan thinks trading will hurt iEra then this is hurting iEra. And since players don't want to be scammed, it hurts the players. Lose/Lose situation. Not only that, but don't you guys say scamming is legal? Because you guys can't deal with it and prove who scammed? You're just hurting the players, really.
