You don't need a template, as long as what you create has all the views needed it will work in game.

In an addition to what Dylan said, find or think of a gun that interests you, Google it, then draw it. If you can draw any random thing, you can draw a gun, just takes practice.

all they said is that he doesnt need one. as long as the size is correct and it got all directions you dont need one

Just don't make it 'too' BIG. Like a cars length or something.

It's not that hard to get him a template for him to start with.

also a tip, reduce the brightness so it's more of a white/grey color, much easier to layout the gun in your head w/o a bulky dark object in the background
