I don't really see people's concern about faceBook privacy, I mean, they give out more information outside of FaceBook than they think. So, with security aside, let's take a look at a social network I had in mind. Not something I'd create, but something I'd join.

As An Operating System

It exists as an operating system, taking up space on your hard drive and loading whenever you login to your computer, same as Google Chrome OS.

Phone/E-Mail Book

Just like a phone book or address book or even dating websites, you can post your information or contact card for free. Good for businesses to post virtual business cards, similar to yellow pages, and users post their numbers like phone books. It's all a choice to make it public or not.

Multimedia

Your photos, music, documents, etc are stored in a cover flow environment. With full apps for creation of such multimedia. With an online store you can buy and sell at.

Marketplace

Idk what happened to FaceBook marketplace but users could sell and buy things on it, like eBay.

Ineraction

Interaction via VoIP. You can call any cell or landline phone from your account, like Skype. Or for free to other uses, kind of like an Internet pay phone I guess.

So basically, id like to see a social approach to operating systems, where you can easily drag and drop files and publish them. You know how you have to upload photos and wait for them to finish? Well you'd just drag and drop and they wouldn't actually be uploaded to any server. Other users would just be viewing a glimpse of your public stuff on your computer. So it's very instant.

Also, regarding uploading/downloading. I think it would save more time if large files that are ansported onto a memory stick or USB aren't actually stored there. What if there was a code that just duplicated the file onto another system when plugged in and then erased itself either manually or automatically? It's like the bar code idea. A bar code doesn't necessarily have a capacity storage, it just contains information. So for instance, if a code could be scanned and actually create the files based on the code, it would be pretty interesting.

Bring up a flash website, it may run a little slow depending on your system. Now bring up it's source code. It's not as slow since it's a text document. This new method of storage would work by creating a code and actually temporarily creating those files without actually putting them there, if that makes sense.

Basically, if I say "Apple", you can associate that word with many usual images of apples the fruit or apple tech products. The code would recognise advanced mathematucal keywords to create an image.

It got replaced with a feature that now you can "Stalk the living sh*t out of everyone on your friends list"

Google OS is an operating system, not a social network. I'm talking about an operating system in a social way. You can't count google OS unless you're talking about it's compatibility with Google Plus

Btw, a lot of googles features are available offline and update the next time you connect to the Internet.

Google isn't useful other than "Type in search bar, hit enter, find all your answers"... And im not in the mood to get used to Google Plus's interface... Even though Facebook changed most of the time, im still happy with the interface as it stays the same... The only rumor that im really concerned about is that Facebook is now going to charge people monthly on FB

There's a giant sentence on the front page "FaceBook will always remain free". And anyways, Google isn't just a search engine anymore. It's a full-speed ahead tech corporation with lots of Internet tools and apps. Google Earth, Google+, Google Search, Google Maps, Google Books, Google Shop, Google Chromium OS, Google Docs and most importantly, their ownership of YouTube. And now they are making most of their apps available without the Internet, and all that social stuff is updated the next time you connect. Either way, I like Google's approach to social networking, but they don't offer anything new. They give you something and don't tell you how I can be useful. We are used to associating habits. Its like advertising. If alcohol is advertised in a recreational way, it becomes a social/recreational drink, but if alcohol is advertised in a medical way (red wine) than we take a whole new approach. Google hasn't taught us how to use it yet. It just says "here is what wr have...have fun".

I didn't said it was just a search engine... I said that the search engine is the only useful thing for google...

Google+ Feels a little different to Facebook and once again, i don't feel like changing the way i communicate with my friends. Google Maps isn't really helpful when it comes to directions. It only shows details of the time it was first placed onto the history of Google maps. Third, i don't think Google Shop will interest anyone...

But Google Chrome... Oh boy... Fastest and most up-to-date server i've seen that never crashes... Screw Firefox and Internet explorer
