Being banned and getting VIP items?

So I'm currently banned and I got the notification that I received the VIP item WHILE I WAS BANNED. I'm just wondering if I still get the VIP item.

I'd be funny if:
1.) You're in jail
2.) the VIP subscription warps you to a level where you can grab your VIP item

You'd be able to get out of jail with a souvenir!
