making 3d android/iphone/pc game(Unity)

I'm looking for scripters and modelers to make a 3d game. I plan to split the profits after launch via pay pal.

Before you guys say I'm going way in over my head, I want to say that I will be using Unity Engine. http://unity3d.com/ Unity Engine does all the rendering for you along with many other things. It has a simple scripting language called unityscript which is basically javascript with different functions. But don't confuse this engine to be an engine for beginners. Gameloft(largest mobile game developer) use this engine for the majority of their games.

email me some models(some animated) you made to [email protected]. Before we make the actual game, we will make a few practice games for fun that will not be for profit so we can get into the hang of making games.

The first game we make will be a rather simple action fighting game based in the medieval ages and on fantasy and old weapons like swords. In it you wake up after falling asleep in the forest and walk home to find out your kingdom was completely wiped out by an unknown attacker. You look around for your wife and kids and are unable to find them, but you do find a note saying that she and your children fled and will be ok. You walk back outside and see strange beasts approaching... you grab your sword and prepare for battle..

the game will consist of fighting through large mobs of strange creatures alone including gigantic bosses to find your wife. You will also collect and craft weapons obtained by large monsters you defeat. The game will be action based. Eventually you find more hints as to where they may be and have to make many clever decisions.

I thought you were making an iServer about an hour ago?
Sigh.

I came to a realization that Stefan probably doesn't think of me as a reliable developer, that gs2 is far more difficult than unityscript, and that unity is far more powerful.

GS2 is actually a pretty damn powerful language if used right. You just have to have the right programming experience. I know that GS1 was great for even it's time and it's still a good beginners engine. The only problem with it was all the workarounds you'd have to use which made it difficult to handle for some.

I'd recommend starting small, like Graal, and then gradually building your way towards a more advanced developer. Don't just think that since you know a little scripting you can do anything, it's a mistake you don't want to make, especially when you realize you're way in over your head.

I actually find gs2 very easy, but i find Unity even easier. I want to use unity because it is far more powerful than Graal: it does 3d and has good graphical power, and has many more features.

What good is 3d Capabilities when you can't model yourself? Because all ive heard is you can "script". you'd be reliant on others yet again. Not to burst your bubble or anything, but as kondie said, start off small.

Good to see you over here btw kondie :D

Name of the game?

haven't thought of one yet. I will think of one once I get the story entirely straightened out.

MercedesBenzy 10-05-2011 02:36 AM

I could help you with a story.

Try using unreal, its nice, easy to pick up and dev, and powerful.

Maybe this is kind of off topic but do you know a good side for tutorials for modeling? I also have unity and use it in my spare time but actually I just use done models, animations and so on.
