Server lag

I know this has been said many many times but, fix it please.

You asked what we wanted if we ended up in the top 3 of game of the year, well; more processing power in the client (or server).

I mean, when a game gets more and more (paying) players isn't it just logic that you buy a better client..?

(I don't quite know what everything is, so excuse me if I made mistakes ;p)

The only true fix to the lag is to remove the players.

Orrr to get a stronger client pc, which can be easily bought (right...?)

The servers aren't just hosted on a staff members computer, so Snk can't just go improve it himself, and neither can any of the staff. Not sure where they are actually hosted, but yeah. GraalOnline hosts them, players rent them.

They rent computers especially made for running servers, so they can just rent a better computer, it's not that hard...
This is what I have been told, but yeah, if this is true, why not rent a better one?

If I was you I'd just wait for Christmas so your parents would buy you a new router.

Kiwi 11-21-2012 09:23 PM

I'm trying to imply that there's no point having it as a future improvement here, you need to go to GraalOnline.

First of all; I'm hearing it from everyone around me. And, using an iPad 3, sitting next to my (good) router, I still lag. I did this as a test...

And just for the record, we don't celebrate Christmas with presents in the Netherlands ;p

iPad 3 is the same as iPad 2 but less buggy = same lag amount.
Near router fixes your Ping and not CPS. I'm playing fine currently even tho I get a 30kb/s Internet.
You have to change the ISP, or for now there is a problem with iOS6 which would get fixed soon.

Yes, you're right but I didn't know where to post it.. I thought maybe snk would see it and email Stefan... I don't know ;p

I wouldn't know how to change my ISP, but thanks, I'll look into it :)

The most lag I see is when there are loads of players in one spot. No matter your connection, the lag is the same (for me at least). As you said, a better computer/server would be able to handle the large flow of information.

Jester Lapse 11-22-2012 01:09 AM

No one here can do anything about it. You'd have to talk to Stefan or Unix both of which don't use these forums. You're preaching to the wrong choir

That's not lag! Jesus, it's based on your CPU driver ~ on iPad 1 I get buggy as hell and crash at start. On iPad 2 it's kinda fine and on iPad 3 it's the same as all levels.

The server usage starts to create lag when it's up to 99% which is not going to happen unless some giant bug does that.
