My new Zebra finches :3

Just wanted to show off my new birds :>
They're all male Zebra finches. I bought the first pair earlier this week and the second pair today, they peck and chase each other but they'll warm up to one another soon enough.
Most people who dislike birds think they are annoying but these guys have more of a "beep" and "meep" (the cutest sounds ever) instead of the usual squawking and chirp (like annoying parakeets)

-The 2 on the left look very similar and I can't tell them apart in this picture but one of their name's is Dizzy, the other is one of the new pair I haven't named.
The 3rd inside the nest is Clark, he looks angry but he's probably my favorite, the last on the right is the 2nd new one and unnamed, he's bossy and a little chubby.

Nice :D
I've always thought it'd be cool to have birds, but it isn't like I need them. :3

D: those birds ate zebras? lol but seriously, cool my friend had some birds like that before! :0

They're very common, cheap, cute, colorful, and the most entertaining finch in my opinion.

On picture #2 it looks like a cat is watching in the bottom left. Might just be a bird's ass, but seriously looks like a cat.

Teach them cool tricks, like barrel rolls

also, when I clicked here I was hoping for a genetics experiment gone wrong. I'm disappointed, OP

I prefer starlings, crows, and ravens, much more intelligent.

I think it's actually illegal to have a pet Crow or Raven in the U.S.

Higbey 12-07-2012 10:42 PM

Nope. Well, the common raven or crow is at least legal I know, not sure about the others.

I tried to get a pet parrot once, but zoo security tackled me before I could even make it out of the bird house

I just googled it and didn't find any official or reliable source but a lot of it says they're illegal to own since they are considered a migratory bird.

o.o
There are medium parrots for sale though. I think Conures are better looking though, and they can still talk like Parrots.

I read "Zebra Finches" but thought "Zebra Fetishes"...

Rufus 12-07-2012 11:17 PM

They look cute. I prefer smaller birds like these.

Froggy Krueger 12-08-2012 12:47 AM

Seriously though those are neat, my grandma had a finch like that

Cat612 12-10-2012 02:54 AM
