Color counts.

How do I check the amount of colors in an image? I want to use a lot less colors. I use Gimp btw.

+rep for anyone who can help (If I can rep you).

How to open color map
~First, index you image. Do this by going to the image tab, scroll down to mode, then click indexed.
~Second, open up your color map. Do this by going to the windows tab, scroll down to dockable dialogs, then click color map.

This tool allows you to see all the colors you are using in your picture. It also allows you to change colors easily.

You could look at the color map or create a palette before the image and use only those colors.

Here's a much easier way than going through all that trouble.
All you need to do is upload your image to a hosting site and paste the url.
Plus it gives out all kinds of little informational goodies.
