Fatnoob's ideas for making iEra better. #1

Yes, I have enough ideas for making iEra better then it is now!

Idea:

eFat, a webshop like eBay but then for iEra.
This webshop can be a shop on the map of iEra but also just a icon on the menu like World Chat.
You can place any item you have in ure inventory for a fixed price ($100~$1000) on the webshop with all kind of items, you can place the price for the item ureself.
The seller gives the item to eFat and when the buyer buys the item, the buyer pays eFat the gralats which he has in his pocket, then the seller gets the gralats through eFat.
You can have a maximum of 5 items on sale on 1 account.

Era Future Improvements
And an eBay would kill iEra's economy, so no.

iEra has no economy, most people just buy gralats packs.
The noobs can also have a chance to get some items for low prices.

I love buying BARs at 700 gralats, instead of buying packs for them!

What's the difference between this and a trading system? No

We graalians search for things to trade items.
No trading system? Let's do a eFat.
No eFat? Let's scam again!
No items? Bad game.

I was thinking the same, Must cause lag though from all the trades... And why eFat, shouldn't it be eGral¿ or eBuy¿

A ebay would be cool for rares and stuff that are scarce in era such as the gold basket. Otherwise no people would put bars at 0 graalets and people would only bid up to 30.

How to fix era is
More shotgun spread (that way they will only be good in close quarters).
Make more jobs with a very high income.
Make cops vs gangsters

Nice idea, but people would start using it as a trading system, so no :(

Why is everyone against a trading system? Just wondering..

Ghettoicedtea 02-11-2013 04:20 AM

Because it will ruin graals economy. I would post that giant quote that talon i think made bu i cant find it.

Replace "trading system" with "eFat".

No on the trading system. As Street once said, the owners of the game don't want a free economy in which other players can capitalize in certain assets, whether it be guns, melees, or currency. In an open market such as one created by a trading system, the demand for certain items is determined by the supply of the item (infinite, in our case). Prices are set by developers. If we allowed trading of items such as guns, prices will decline way below the original price set for the item. Why? Because when players find no more use for, say, a BAR, they will sell it for a lesser price to appeal to players and use the money to buy a new gun. Eventually the price players set tend to turn into an accepted status quo, which is indefinitely lower than store prices. When this happens, the players' money circulates only through players as opposed to Gralats disappearing when an item in a store is purchased. When money circulates through players, eventually the need for purchasing Gralat Packs is gone as players can just easily sell items to gain money.

This is an issue for any game developer with no outside revenue source. When players are constantly shelling for money, soon all of the money will STAY in circulation through the players, assuming items are bought at lower prices from other players (which any rational player will do). When this happens, TONS of money will be, and stay in the economy which ultimately defeats the purpose of buying packs. This means no revenue for the game owners. Our current system regulates this by forcing players to buy items in-store. Having money disappear when items are bought in-store lessens the amount of money circulating in the economy. When there is less money going around, players are more inclined to buy Gralat packs - that is where game owners make their profit.

It's actually not that it ruins the economy, it's that it creates an economy and Stefan loses money. Think about it.
