so I made another ad
 

This time for my ever so cool graphics assignment - design a perfume bottle! This isn't actually part of it (it's mostly orthographic and isometric projections, rendering on paper, that sutff), but I decided to brainstorm it in google sketchup and then I used Maxwell Renderer to make a decent image of it.

I looked at other perfume ads and they all had random words like "inevitable", "attract", that sort of thing, so I went with "entice". The name of the company is just the name of a glacier in New Zealand. The cologne itself is called Glacier because I'm not very creative.

Critique please?



I tried for a plain, simple look. It does seem like there's a lot of empty space, but I didn't know what else to add. Most other cologne ads have pictures of half naked people, which obviously I wouldn't want to put in a school assignment.

Looks fine to me, but try to make the picture more hi-res? It's kind of grainy.

It was meant to be, but after it'd only gotten to 3/4 of the way done, and it had taken two hours, I gave up and settled with that. It isn't the best, but it'll do :)

also in reply to your rep comment: the Spoon 3GS would be released soon if I had any idea what changes to make to the Spoon 3 for it


Edit: oh, it might look grainy because the texture is frosted glass. The backing is stainless steel.

You can center the bottle and up the text no? The up seems too blank

I'm not up for moving it. That means re-rendering the image so the background does too and all the shadow is nice. (I can make the shadow myself with the gradient tool but it would look terrible). Thanks though :)

Maybe adding a cool word to the top?

Not sure if I'm a fan of the three different fonts. Other than that, it looks very professional

"with" is a little too close to "glacier" imo
