1k guild without subs/noobcruiting?
 

I'm pretty sure no guild has gotten 1k without using subs and/or noobcruiting for a good part of their journey to 1k. Subguilds are allies to a guild which are basically a backup tag for members so the main guild can easily kick offline members for space. Noobcruiting means recruiting random people (usually when your guild doesn't have many members online) and kicking them for no apparent reason when they log off without giving them a sub. The thing these tactics have in common is that they abuse the guild and ally system to bypass the 25 player limit. This promotes quanity over quality in tower guilds to be able to compete...for a hat that only 25 members are supposed to receive.

You probably knew all that, so I'm gonna move on. Is it possible for a guild to get 1k without doing all that? I'm not saying you can just throw 25 noobs together and call it a success. If a group of people have very clever and well thought-out strategies and genuinely had fun taking towers, maybe they can get by just fine without abusing the guild system. Or is it so dominant and powerful nowadays that there's no escape, as in you must do it or your guild is doomed to fail?

It's possible, just a major unlikeness because of today's fixed perspective on towering. Many people believe towers are for hats rather than fun so they would much rather spam recruits to reach their goal faster. Yes, leading a single guild without any allies is possible but there would be a lack of motivation unless each of them is truly in it for the hat. You mentioned subguilding which is something Helsing has done, only recruiting other guild members and none other. It was hard enough doing that since whenever either someone with powers or whenever there was a low amount of people we basically had to suck it up and wait until more people got on and prayed we wouldn't get ambushes at that time. So again, yes 25 people is possible. But very, very unlikely.

My guild is almost to 300 hours and it is pretty much a four man and two girls guild, but we have been at it for a few years now...

I was in a guild like this on fb so it really doesn't count but it was nice, everyone was friends at the end. We all still talk (those who are left) and it's still like a little family. I'm sure it's not impossible but people are so rushed to get 1k unfortunately you don't see it ever on iPhone server.

I always toyed with the idea of doing a 1k guild completely by myself while the Facebook server existed. Thought it would have been a good laugh.

It's pretty possible these days, not too many good tower guilds left, you can easily take a fort with 2-3 people.

Paradigm, Enguard/Alumni tower guild branch is going to aim towards this.

That's subguilding, unless it's not allied and it stands alone.

Its still allied, for guild chat. Were not going to recruit random people to Enguard/Alumni, even Paradigm. The guild will be around 20-25 good individuals that can take towers.

ya R3druM was the only one that did it with no allies or noob recruiting. HK did it without allies but noob recruited after like 750 hrs.

PiNoY had 1 sub only for a while and did pretty good. And yeah it's possible, look at Mau5trap, no subs, no allies, and 300 hours of fort time. Once in a while you may see a new face but really it was the same people you'd see at swamp taking down VG. But with the same 25 anyone could probably do it, it'd just take an extremely long amount of time lol. And noob recruiting I consider is recruiting random noobs who walk inside the tower your at. If a newer player asks if they can help I don't see the point in saying no, I like to give everyone a chance, I don't consider it noob recruiting if the "noob" asks to help.

Yeah, I agree with goten. Some players become the best tower players if you give them a chance to learn about towers.

Xenthics guild Xzenix has 250+ hrs from MoD
neither has allies, neither noob recruited.
I really wanted xenthic to take his guild to be the first MoD-only-1k but he lost interest
