Incase you havent heard the news, rumors were released on a new precursor game to the ever so elusive Star Wars: Battlefront 3, and it's resparked a bit of speculation. Heres the machinima video incase your one of the 5 people on this forum (that i know of) who doesnt watch machinima.

That FPS screenshot looked sexy. Might have to buy that one.

But I still don't have my hopes up for BF3. Republic Commando 2 for next gen would be amazing since they skipped on current gen...actually all the GOOD star wars games skipped this gen.

All we got was TFU(2) which was mediocre, that god awful kinect game, and yoda+darth vader in soulcalibur 4

TFU honestly shouldve just stopped after the first game. Noone cares about a story about just clones, those types of things are best made in comics. And soul calibur 4... Great game, but honestly it was dumb that they featured yoda, darth vader, and starkiller in the game, they shouldve just used more mainstream characters like anakin and obi-wan.

I hope they release Battlefront 3. They already announced they will be releasing Star Wars 1313 eventually. And the first TFU was awesome, it won an award from the Writers Guild for its amazing storyline. The 2nd TFU however was lackluster.

Right now with the news of the new movie coming out, i think its not a bad idea for lucasarts to release a prequel game or two and wait to release BF3 after the movie comes out, and have it implement the new characters, story, and maybe even new weapons.

Also edited the Original Post, i added the URL for a good battlefront 3 news site i found while roaming for updates. Its a quite reliable site, it has good news, as well as videos and screenshots, and concept art such as this:
