Bug Catching Leaderboard/Tourney?
 

Okay, so I've loved bug catching ever since it was released. I think it's uber fun, and you get gralats for it so it's a win-win! But why not have a leaderboard for it to make it a little more competitive/to entice more players to bug catch! It is one of the more popular activities on graal, along with sparring and pking which both have leaderboards of their own. I see how this idea might be a little far-fetched, but doesn't it sound cool to any of you fellow bug catchers? You could see how many bugs you caught compared to others and even the total amount of bugs caught in your lifetime!

Also, I had the idea for a bug catching tournament! It could happen once a year, (maybe around Spring or Summer) and could last 24 hours-a couple days. Basically, the goal would be to catch as many bugs as possible in that time period and maybe the top 10 or 20 players with the most bugs caught or so would get a trophy? Or, instead, each bug would be worth a certain amount of points, the rarer ones worth more and the common worth less, and those with the most points rather than bugs would win. Thoughts? Maybe I went a li'l cray, but bug catching is what I do for a major percentage of my time on graal and without it, there's no way I'd be able to afford to renew my vip every month lol. Please post your ideas on this topic below!

awesome idea, i love this. maybe have a bug catching trophy as a prize or a golden bug net :3 but once a year kinda sucks maybe once a month.

It would be cool if bug catching had a reward for catching every type of bug in the game.

In that case, I already won.

I'm a bit skeptic about the Bug Catching Tournament, unless they bump up the spawn multiplier to 10. Other than that, I really like your enthusiasm!

A bug catching contest might be something fun to do in the summer when there's no holiday events going on. I like the idea, you've won me over.

Even though I find bug catching a bit annoying sometimes, both of these ideas are pretty cool. (as long as the spawn rates are increased during the tournament)

Blueh and Bug Catching is like US/Mother in GST lol. Regardless, it would be something fun to compete in.

I caught 100 fireflies just this morning. I wish well for those pitted against me lol.

I really like the idea of having bug catching tournaments. It reminds me a lot of Pokemon. However I think it'd be best if it was done in a unique environment made specifically for a bug catching tournament. A small gmap with a few caves and empty buildings for pillbugs and such.

The only problem I suppose with the above idea is that a small gmap would mean limited players could participate. Always very easy to forget the scale of the playercount...

Maybe before you have the tournament you can release a special type of bug that would be released on the over map. These bugs would be nothing special, probably wouldn't sell for much either. But in order to participate you must catch a certain amount of them to give to an NPC who will register your account to play. The first set number of players to catch and deliever the special contest bug to the NPC get to participate. The rest can be sold at the Swamptown witch.
