I'm a little slow on picking this up, but I watched the first episode last night and it is probably the best first episode of an anime that I have ever seen. I highly recommend that you check it out. Unlike Sword Art Online I can see myself definitely following this.

Synopsis:

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Elen and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Elen vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

Just watched the trailer you linked, no sub. :( Regardless, it looks good and I need a break from Bleach lol.

Really recommend this anime, first five minutes and last part were amazing for the first episode. This is on my list for the spring simulcast for sure.

Just watched the episode, won't try and spoil but that last part was grim o.O definitely worth watching though.

Wow, the ending was really great and unnerving, just the way I like it. Really love the way how the Titans were designed. Menacing, grueling, amazing. Thank you for the suggestion.

Sorry Rufus, I know you. Once a character goes out of shape or it has a bad end to something, its like THE END OF THE WORLD FOR YOU. You stop completely, not even wanting to see the next episode. I don't see you getting past episode 5

Lmao wat? I very rarely drop things and if I do its because they're not very engaging. Like Sword Art Online, I grew bored by the 'LITTLE GIRL IS SUFFERING, I AM SUFFERING, I HAVE BLACK HAIR AND WANT TO DO THIS ALL ALONEEEE!!' tone pretty fast. Humans pretending they're Spiderman and fighting naked giants with creepy smiles? **** yeah!
