Stolen SFX?
 

Soooo the other day i let my friend play on my phone and he got a game from the appstore called "Growtopia". Im not a fan of 8bit type games but i tried it anyway..it had 7 servers and a similar control system as Graal.

This game caught my attention because when i used the punch emote it produced the same sound as the shovel from Graal classic. I was kinda skeptical so i did a little more investigation. I went on iFile and played all the mp3 files on Growtopia's Folder...i was in shock when i found out that 3 other SFX files were similar to those in Graal.

I was still in doubt so i transferred Growtopia's mp3 files and used a programme to try and identify if it had some similar tempos from Graal's SFX. I was shocked, again, when i found out that the "choir" mp3 sound is exactly the same as the "getit" SFX from graal...i found some similarities with the other files but the "getit" and "choir" files are more comparable as they are only short.

Im not really sure if this is counted as stolen content but i know that Growtopia is not associated with eurocenter/unixmad or any graal associates.. so what im trying to figure out ATM is wether Growtopia stole the SFX files from Graal or if Graal stole it from Growtopia...i know this is only minor but some people can take this to further extent.

:Dwell i just found out that Growtopia is a stolen SFX do to the fact graal was made before the game so i never could understand why graal steal a file from Growtopia it's not logical...do to the point that graal was made 1996-1997 i believe so graal is the first M.M.O to get a reward so for the error on your research and state of view "EC203" graal is a legit game made from start to finish yes it may have link things but ik stefan talk to the creator of the legend of zelda to get approval of using most of the zelda stuff and putting it in graal so...."lol"...I THINK GRAAL IS LEGITLY MADE FROM THE BOTTOM TO TOP!! Xd

Lol yeah I found this out way before anyone else. The game sucks ass btw. But I neer bothere to make a thread or anything because for one 1. Graal has no right to talk about "copying" other games. 2. No benefits given to you 3. No one gives a ****.

FYI i didnt write about it for any "benefits"..its a topic of interest since most of Growtopia's content are not only ripped off from graal... I don't see the harm in making a thread as long as my discussion pertains a topic that could interest others :rolleyes:

i dont know what youre trying to say.. BTW just because graal was made before Growtopia doesnt mean that graal cant steal ideas from them. Anyway stealing SFX isnt really anything big.. but its still cheeky because most of Growtopia's content is literally a copy and paste job.

Graal has probably bought some royalty-free sound pack. That means they paid a one-time fee for a compilation of sounds and can use them endlessly and never have to pay the person anymore(hence the royalty-free, as royalties are paid for every use). Chances are others have also bought this pack, and this is why you hear the sound effects in many different places, like DBZ and such.
